Creating NPCs In A Timely Fashion?

Mornin' lads, kinda getting bogged down 'ere again.

I've noticed that all the current settler expansion mods are aimin' for spick-and-span-straight-outta-the-vault lads 'n' lasses, which is just bleh. So I'm trying my hand at adding more generic variations the raiders 'n' settlers 'n' such.

And holy hell does it take ages. I've spent the past hour or so making character faces, and I've only managed to plonk out three a'ight ones.

For each different face, I make a new game, sculpt away, save 'n' then use the Face Ripper tool to transplant 'em into an .esp file.

But this takes yonks. Is there some sorta hidden trick to making decent faces quickly? There kinda has to be, seeing as how there are those mods that add a couple hundred different settler faces 'n' such, but if there isn't...Eugh. Ew. Yuck.

Also, noses. Why do they look so bad? I've tried making the bridge more prominent, but that gives them the ol' caveman brow.

Wellp, since I'm a completely shameless guy, I have no problem with shamefully promoting my own pizzle.

It sure helps to have a buncha different presets ta work from, so you don't have to keep chewing away at some round face to get a nice, gaunt rectangle. So I converted most of Fallout 4's unique NPCs into presets. Get the mod 'ere: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18743/?

If it helps, I find that editing faces in the CK is much more precise and efficient than using the in-game menu.

The problem with that is that the character render window in the CK is bloody tiny, has this horrid dark lighting, and since the render window is small there is this FOV distortion.

It's probably not so bad for lads on widescreens, but since my monitor is 1280x1024, that actor render window is mighty small. Wonder if there's a way to make it bigger.

I do have a bigger screen, but you can resize the render window on the actor window, at least in the version I have. Have you updated your CK recently?

I'm on the latest; 1.7.16. Dragging the actor window only gives me a couple more pixels, and causes the actor window to lose it's border. I can resize vertically just fine, but horizontally...Nada.
