Bloodmoon and the Construction Set and a Sea of Errors

Why, hello there. I have a fairly simply problem: I cannot open Bloodmoon.esm in my Construction Set. When I try to do so, I an met with a barrage of bogus, boisterous errors that come in three flavors:

1. 'Chunk size 10 too big in chunk WEAT_ID in form REGN_ID

Max size is 8, data truncated to "$("

2. DataHandler: unrecognized form

Look in the Warnings.txt file for more info.

3.Region 'Felsaad Coast Region' Weather Chances do not total 100 percent.

The last one (3) is repeated a few times for pretty much every outdoor cell in Solthseim. The first one (1) is also repeated a few times, with what's in the "quotation's" varying between several random symbols ($@*!(%^#$^@ & more!). Once these errors are past, the Construction Set moves on to continue loading but reaches 'Initializing Objects...' and then hangs up, and never finishes. Warnings.txt has nothing but a summary of all these warnings.

I have the Morrowind GOTY edition from Steam, so Steam should keep it up to date on patches. However, I noticed that when I highlight Bloodmoon.esm in the loading menu in the Construction Set, it says 'File version: 1.30, Current Version: 1.20' I'm not sure if this has any significance though, because it says the same thing for Tribunal.esm and even though Tribunal gives the same three types of errors, it still loads just fine in the Construction Set.

The game itself works fine, Bloodmoon plays out in-game with no errors. Its master file simply won't open in the Construction Set. Does anyone have a guess at what's up? It's entirely possible it's something amazingly obvious that I'm missing, I do that from time to time!

Well, many thanks in advance for any insights.

You have to load up Morrowind.esm and Tribunal.esm along with Bloodmoon.esm. Tribunal and Bloodmoon are dependent on Morrowind.esm. It will just save you a lot of headaches to just open all 3 instead of 2 out of the 3.

Why thanks for a reply. Unfortunately, I've already tried loading them all up, and tried again just now to make sure. The result is the same: the construction set reaches 'Loading Files...Initializing Objects...' and then does nothing.

  • 1 year later...
  • 3 weeks later...

If you have chunk size error and complaints about WEAT_ID, then its because tribunal is installed over bloodmoon. So install Bloodmoon again over it and it should solve it.

If it doesn't the uninstall every thing and again install in the order Morrowind > Tribunal > Bloodmoon.
