PsYchotic666Joker
Long story short i use to play Dragon age: Origins and i have quite a few mods installed ( been so long i do not know which i have, didn't check ) i remember before i quit playing something glitched on my character creation screen, the male and female models are invisible and i don't think i was able to play either...i cannot remember, anyways, i decided to fire it up and i deleted my char which was around 120 hours of playtime..went to make a new character for a fresh start, and BAM i totally forgot about the glitch or conflict or w/e as i never fixed it...now i'm curious is this a glitch in the game, or a mod conflict possibly? Thinking about just uninstalling the game and removing the mods then adding them back in 1 by 1, which i know i didn't really have any conflicts because i remember i made more than 1 char and had no issue's at all, it just appeared out of the blue o_O TL;DR character creation is bugged and has no models to start a new playthrough, glitch or mod conflict, should i uninstall and reinstall the game? Thanks :) EDIT: Iv decided to go ahead and uninstall everything currently re-installing the game once more ( ultimate edition if any are curious ) but id still like to know if anybody knows or has any thoughts on what might have caused my issue? Thandal
If your install was working properly at some point, and no patches applied since, then it's 100% guaranteed to have been caused by conflicts between mods you installed. Most likely source, adding (or even more likely, removing) appearance mods and forgetting to update the chargenmorphcfg.xml correctly. Done it myself a few times.
PsYchotic666Joker
Thanks for the reply, i just finished re-installing the game and the addons went straight to create a character and the models where there this time, but what i do not get...last year when i last played i was fine and my game is pretty heavily modded and had no issue's then BAM the model thing happen, idk it may have been a mod conflict or something... Now the fun part gets to start, i have to re-add all my mods as iv saved them all in some folders and my programs/utilities, gotta learn how to do all this again, this part i hate lol it's annoying when you feel stupid again because it's been soooo long >.< P.S. i just remembered do i have to update my game somehow with patches if i have the Ultimate edition? i cannot remember if it was already patched or notSorry for the noob question, been awhile and i can't remember everything lol Thanks! Thandal
The UE installs ver 1.04, and 1.05 was just released on the day before (US) Thanksgiving. But the purpose of 1.05 was to fix a number of (mostly DLC) authorization issues that some people experienced, and because it was such a problem for some of us (myself, among them) who have "DX10-but-not-DX11-capable" graphics cards, correcting a huge 'increasing load-time and animation lag' behaviour that turned out to have been the result of "non-standard" versions of certain compiled libraries. So unless you had either or both of the specific issues that 1.05 addresses, it won't make any difference for you.
PsYchotic666Joker
Ok thanks for clearing that up, i myself never had any issue's trying to authorize my dlc's but i did have a friend try and had issue's with it, i also have a dx10 graphics card ( gtx 260 ) but not sure i had any load time and animation lag, but if i did now i won't :D
