solidus2845
So I noticed this tonight. Either I have simply not noticed before and dealt with it, or a patch introduced it. Simply put, the mouse sensitivity is all screwy when in third person (it is almost entirely nonexistant in first person). It behaves almost like zooming in with the eagle eye perk - which cuts my horizontal sensitivity in half with the time slow down. I will explain the best way I can replicate the issue to see if anyone else has this problem... I am in my house in Markarth - I am in the doorway to the enchanting lab. I am in third person. If I move around facing the enchanting lab in the doorway, and move the camera up and down, it's very responsive and sensitive. If I keep moving the camera up and down and stop moving my character back and forth, BAM vertical mouse sensitivity is cut in half. It seems mainly triggered by...my movement? Really? I am baffled. I have implemented every one of the input lag reducing tweaks, prerendered frames, mouse accel, vertical sync, 360 controller support, fps limiter. I've been playing just fine for many countless hours and days, but this stopped me in my tracks today. So it's responsive and sensitive while running around....but vertical sensitivity drops like a rock when I stop moving. THIS IS IN THIRD PERSON. This is NOT a static vertical-horizontal sensitivity issue. It changes real-time, in game like I described above. Please, is anyone else seeing anything like this? buzzbomb
Yep. Drives me nuts. As yet, I have not found a fix for it. I just chalked it up to one of the many UI problems in the game, and am hoping for a patch. That works. Without breaking more stuff. *sigh* The stuff that doesn't work hurts so much more because I love the game.
solidus2845
Ugh. As an addition, I have found that drawing your weapon (remember we're in third person, lag appears when standing idle) fixes it... So it's not gamebreaking, really. Stopping to look around, standing idle in third person triggers it. Problem is. I stop to look around. In third person. To admire the beauty. And my armor. A lot. Heh, silly patches. Heh, silly patches. Just to confirm and add to the above. I have not had this issue until I implemented the basic "bMouseAcceleration=0" and "iPresentInterval=0" tweaks to reduce mouselag then spent the night prowling forums for a fix to the op's issue. Using tesv.exe v1.7.7.0. And don't we all stand around admiring the view a lot? Especially with cbbe mods ;) I gave up on the "#fMouseHeadingYScale/XScale" settings as they seem to make this situation worse. Looks like we need another patch, but 8 months post release is a bit long for such basic gamplay fixes. In case anyone from Bethesda is reading, I am not buying any dlc until the original game is up to scratch.
Johangir
I'd like to confirm I'm also having this issue. Once I stand still in 3rd person with no weapons equipped, mouse sensitivity suddenly drops, returns to normal if I start moving or if I equip something. And it seems no one on other sites is responding with anything helpful, as if this issue doesn't exist for everyone when it certainly does. I've tried reinstalling from scratch, removing all mods, and deleting all my local and cloud config files, to no avail. There's no mods that address this either, so I'm at a loss as to what a fix for this could be
Johangir
I have an update on this, this Y sensitivity issue is being caused by your FPS ingame. Using an FPS limiter, I limited my FPS to 30 and the problem went away. At 60 FPS it becomes more evident, still hard to notice. At 120 FPS and beyond it is extremely noticeable. Those of you who turned off vsync/ipresentinterval prolly caused your FPS to get really high, making the problem worse. I suspect this is because the autists at bethesda prioritized the game's development for consoles (since I believe the game ran at 30 FPS locked on xbox 360 and ps3?).
