Sisaroth90
Brag-plaining. Another one of those "They put it into the game so I used it and now I am godly powerful and I want to make the game harder!" The game has a difficulty slider. And a console that you can cheat with. There is no difference between using those things and using exploits. If you can manage to leave the difficulty alone and leave the console closed, then how can you not manage to keep yourself from using exploits? The game is difficult for me, and not because I don't know how to play it. In fact it is difficult because I DO know how to play it. And why is using one of the professions using exploits? Bethesda should just have made enchanting a lot weaker, even without fortify alchemy-enchanting-alchemy it is way too strong.

So it's up to us in the end to restrain us from the temptation! By the way, how I do crafting: Do not buy materials and do NOT spam iron daggers. Make steel as you can, and only make steel. Then move forward only making the best kind of thing you can. I didn't reach 100 enchanting, or smithing for that matter, before well over 50. I tell you, some fights get tough without that 900 damage sword!

My rules for making Smithing not asinine (and I do follow these rules for every character); Do not make anything worth less than 50 Septums when leveling your skill. You may only buy materials for equipment you plan to equip immediately, or that your follower will equip immediately (or that you'll hand to them in the hope that the game recognizes that they should be wearing it, but probably won't because... well, just because). You may buy materials to upgrade equipment that you are using. You may not buy materials when leveling your skill. You may buy leather when leveling your skill, but only if you are building metal items. That's about it. Easy-peasey. Like your method, mine makes smithing take a while to level up, and actually makes me money instead of gobbling it up. That and it keeps me from discovering that I still have 120 daggers in my weapons storage chest later on. That's just embarrassing. Also, this mod can slow the smithing process down considerably and make even dagger spam painful. It's also why I spam gold rings. I also don't think gold weighs enough, but that's another topic.
