thelasthallow
Well its kinda weird to me that your character is a dragonborn and you can shout "just like dragons" but dragons can constantly use there shouts with no recharge time while im stuck waiting. So dose anyone know where there might be a mod to decrease shout times? EDIT: BTW this is not a request im just looking for a link to a mod already made (if there is one) Edited December 7, 2011 by thelasthallow
Sunnie
Theres no mod for this because it's easily done with a console command. Once set and saved in a gamesave, it's permanent until you change it again. player.forceav shoutrecoverymult xxx xxx= timer multiplier where: 1= default .75 = 25% faster .50 = 50% faster.25 = 75% faster recovery. Be forewarned, using forceav will make Amulets and Blessings of Talos useless. modav is what you should probably use.

Using modav will add or subtract from what is already there. Using forceav will set the value to what you enter and not add or subtract from the current stored value. You want addition/substraction, not to set the value. If you use items or blessings that change the basic value and then set it with forceav, these blessings/items no longer have any effect, and vice versa. If however you add/substract then you can get both the benefits of your manual change and whatever you find in game. I suppose it depends on what you're trying to achieve but I've never been in a situation where I felt the heavyhandedness of forceav was preferable, aside from some bugfixing or testing. Admittedly in this case the impact is fairly minor because aside from the blessing and the amulet of Talos, I havent found any items in game that modified shout cooldown, and since we both seem to understand how it works, I suppose there's nothing to argue about :) Edited December 7, 2011 by Valamyr
Sunnie
Again, you are wrong. I have tested this thoroughly, have you? Setting the multiplier to .25 will net a 75% reduction in cool down time, wear the amulet of talos and it gets reduced to 85% faster, get the Talos blessing on top of that and its instant refresh. It is up to the individual user what they want, but using modav will quickly get that value out of control and confuse people when they can't figure out how to fix it. I havent tested it in the case of shout recharge, but that's... not how forceav works for everything else at all. OK, I'll stop arguing and run some tests I guess  But color confused in the meantime. Sorry for arguing! M7a3t5
I think changing the shout cool down to .00 is what is messing up my game. Does anyone know about the "was equipped" message that appears just like any other message skyrim would tell you (ex. when you wake up and it tells you that you feel well rested. that kind of message). Also at http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Console_Commands_%28Skyrim%29 it says "player.forceav <value> <amount>EditShould be avoided for use, as it overrides/ignores game's automatic calculations such as item bonuses, spell bonuses, etc. " So does that matter with the one debate posted above? or does it not matter? I dont care about who wins... i just dont want my game to be all buggy.
DeneverLajos
Is that 0.25 etc. or .25 or 1.25?
