why don't you copy a space from somewhere else? select, then ctrl+v to copy, ctrl+c to paste. :P

Edit: actually hold down alt and type 032 on your numpad to get a space

Probably best to wait for the Creation Kit before you add stuff to the game.

 

As for modelling programs, start with blender which is free.

You should send a message to the author.

There is really no way for someone to know it, except the maker, as there are several modelling programs.
