Tirick
So I was experiencing the random CTD chains on a long-playtime game due to the terrible memory management in the .exe last week, and dutifully raised a ticket (as any good software owner should do). Since then I've been using the 4Gig .exe. and have had no crashes at all (I've played 10-20 hours on the savegame/char I was crashing every 5 minutes on) since. I should note I played about 20 hours on a new character (before using the .exe mod) once I started crashing, and had 0 CTD's as well, although only on the new character, so it seems clear it is a save/memory/worldchange issue. Should I 'disclose' this to them? Sounds daft, this is a reasonable solution to their problem, but part of me is concerned they will see this as a breach (although from my understanding the 4G fix runs a copy of the .exe, not a direct mod of the 'live' file). Thoughts? Tirick PS All they want from me ATM is the dxdiag report ('cause that will fix it). I will send this, I just wonder if I should tell them that a user mod fixed it (I also don't want to cause trouble for the modder (who is awesome, BTW)
KingFrostman
They are already working on a 4G fix. See the patch 1.3 notes.
Tirick
And here I was at work like a chump instead of playing. Thank you for pointing out the upgrade! Tirick
