lupusmagus
Just another person to say that removing blood spatter from the ini fixed this problem for me too.
EasterEEL
I don't even have that line in my Skyrim.ini and yet the game still crash straight to desktop whenever I decided to open a mapHelp! Anyone? Is this problem related to steam update in anyway? I had same problem and in the end had to delete the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini files to get the game to recreate the defaults. Then my current game would not load so I had to backtrack to an earlier game save. The problem then disappeared for me so it is question of working out which tweak is causing the problem I applied several tweaks from the nvidia guide. dainsgames
I have the same problem, but I don't have the spatter line in. Instead, I have bDisableAllGore=1. Changing it to 0 didn't fix the problem although this line affects spatter. Edit, found the spatter line and changed it. Fixed the map crash for me too. Thanks for posting this! gamebryo
Thank you many times good sir for finding this out. I was in the process of benchmarking my Skyrim with 160+ mods and then all of a sudden I couldn't bring up the map. Changing textures, switching .ini files did the trick, but I never would have guessed it was the blood textures line. I am now using a blank texture for the blood on screen and haven't had an issue since. Thank you good sir. Kudos.
HOUSE
these lines I added to skyrim.ini [screenSplatter]bBloodSplatterEnabled=0 I don't know why this would cause the map/game to crash, but removing these lines solved the problem. Took me an hour to find that out... Hope this can help others, or maybe it just crashes for me BIG THX for this very helpful Post !!! You made my day !!!!!!! Estara
Oh thank you so much for this! That was my problem, too. I have found the following mod extremely helpful in the way of getting rid of the blood, but you have to follow the tips in the comment by RobThom (posted @ 12:53, 30 Mar 2013)on the mod page otherwise it doesn't work as expected if you only download the specific blood removers.
