No luck for me.

Tried putting the lines

[screenSplatter]
bBloodSplatterEnabled=0
in skyrim.ini - didnt work. In skyrimprefs.ini - didn't work. changed the bBloodSplatterEnabled=1 in skyrim.ini, then the other. None of these worked for me.
Only thing in my mods related to blood is the enhanced blood textures, but I have disabled that.
This is driving me insane.
Even used Loot to sort load order, then TS5EDIT to clean - no errors now according to TS5EDIT but still cannot open an indoor dungeon map. I can open indoor map when I am in the city/town.

I tried disabling mods one at a time in reverse order of installation, but that didn't get me anywhere. My only solution was to clean install skyrim then add mods 1-2 at a time, use loot and TS5Edit to clean, then repeat the process. it is now working.

I had the same problem, unfortunately none of the solutions worked.

Then I realized that the problem occurred after using the BBLS teleport spell. So I uninstalled the mod, started the game, the problem wasn't solved, but after installing the BBLS again, bumm there was my working map again.

Update:

the above is correct, but I suspected that the cause of the problem wasn't the BBLS mod, on the contrary it was the solution. And it doesn't need to unistalled and installed again, just to put after the mod (in the load order) that is causing the map to malfunction. Of course if you, like me, don't know which mod is causing the problem, you need to put the BBLS down in the load order one place at the time, until the map is o.k. Then you will know which one caused the problem in the first place.

P.S. BBLS = Bathing Beauties Luxury Suite

P.P.S. of course there are probably another mods that correct the map height (which is the core of the problem) but I know for this one for sure

And a big thanks to OldMansBeard for creating this awesome mod and helping me finding the solution for the map problem! :)

Hey. So for me, the problem WASN'T ANYTHING to do with blood splatter. It was to do with a freakin' mod that added a map marker on the dang map, and that crashed it. So for example, if you have say.. a mansion mod, for Whiterun castle, or "The Evil Mansion", or stuff like that, it'll crash it, because once I removed those.. voila.. it worked again. How annoying!!!!

Here's my tale of woe...

I purchased Skyrim Legendary Edition in December of 2017. All seemed to work well. Until I installed the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, after that anytime I tried to open the map I'd CTD.

To make a long story short, here's how I fixed it:

1) Backup everything!

2) Download and install LOOT.

3) Download and install TES5Edit. (don't run this until you read the doc's)

I was under the impression that having purchased Skyrim in 2017, that all the content (Skyrim, Dawnguard, etc.) would not need to be cleaned. Silly, me! It turns out that I not only needed to clean the 3 DLC's that come with Skyrim Legendary Edition; but, I also needed to clean "update.esp."

The Doc's for Tes5Edit explain how to clean in much more detail than I am willing to go into.

4) After cleaning the ESP's, run LOOT again.

Notes Specific to My Setup:

1) Since I own Skyrim Legendary Edition, I then chose to download the Unofficial Patch for the Legendary Edition. rather than several individual patches.

2) I use Wrye Bash (Smash) as my mod manager, so I rebuilt the bash patch.

I've experienced no CTD's since doing this.

This was my problem too turned out to be the Temple of Time mod. I had SKSEVR installed wrong and once I fixed it all the scripts started running, took hours to figure out what was broken.
