Exporting as MDL

I'm currently developing a game for a project this semester, and we have been given code that let's us use MDL files. The thing is, are there any modeling softwares that can do it out of the box? Blender has scripts for that (NWN2 MDL files, if I'm not mistaken), but I wanted one that can export as MDL without extra scripts. Any ideas?

 

Note: Those MDL files are HL2 type models.

You want NWMAX. Gmax plugin. I believe it has scripts available to export to .max format and then into .MDL from that. There really isn't any way around that process as far as I remember.

Not sure if Softimage XSI could, since that was what Valve used, but I think you're going to have to get a plugin or script regardless of App.
