Vortaka
Hi, First, I've jumped from 1.1 to 1.3 (didn't want 1.2 (who knows why!)). I had troubles with the mouse Y axis. To move it just a little, I had to do 5 rolls or so (and that moves vertically about 5 degrees... Very very slowly... X axis wasn't a problem... What I did was change the ini value fMouseHeadingYScale in Skyrim.ini My Original [Controls] fMouseHeadingYScale=0.0190 fMouseHeadingXScale=0.0190 Modified [Controls] fMouseHeadingYScale=0.9190 fMouseHeadingXScale=0.0190 Hope this can help at least someone... TheOssusKeeper
Anyone having troubles with the Y-axis of the mouse in the new update 1.3 (Like me), might want to try these settings. First time users - at the launcher, let it detect your settings then start the game. Not a First time User - start the game. And at the Menu options i.e Continue, New, Load, etc etc... (you don't even have to load a save game for this)Open the Console and type Saveini and hit enter, wait a few seconds for it to finish, the type qqq to quit the game. Then there should be a Skyrim.INI file in your Data folder. (Note* I have noticed that doing this with plugins in your Data folder will for some odd reason Name your Skyrim.INI file after the last 3rd party plugin. For example: If you have RicherMerchents.esp as your last plugin, the saveini will save your Skyrim.INI as RicherMerchents.INI, Just rename it to Skyrim.INI) Go to the actual game folder, i.e. C:\Program Files\ Steam\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim\DataIt seems with 1.3 Bethsofts initial INI file setting/save for the Documents folder is somewhat buggy.Open in Notepad or something similar to edit the Skyrim.INI file.Search for these settings: fMouseHeadingYScalefMouseHeadingXScale And adjust to your liking. For me, I have mine set to: fMouseHeadingYScale=0.5200fMouseHeadingXScale=0.0200 And it works perfect now! PS. I also have VSync ON and Mouse Accel. OFF.I turned VSync back on due to lengthy play time issues without it being on. Note * this is probably just a temporary solution until they come out with another patch, that fixes or changes things again. Also you may be able to cut and paste the New Skyrim.INI file out of your Data folder and into your Documents folder and have it still work, of this I'm not sure. I haven't tested that. My game works as is now, so I didn't want to go any further with it. Edit: * I did Cut and Paste the Skyrim.INI file from my Data folder and did place it in my Documents folder and it DOES work like it's supposed to,. So that's another step you might consider doing. I hope this helps many people with the mouse Y-axis issue. Edited December 21, 2011 by The Ossus Keeper
nubblet
There is no Skyrim.ini in the data folder for me. the only one i have other than the ones in the documents folder is steamapps/common/skyrim/skyrim/SkyrimPrefs.ini i have tried copying the skyrim.ini and skyrim prefs.ini into the data folder, so i now have a copy of each in data, skyrim, and documents folder. and still changing the headingscale values has no noticable effect.
