bben46
What about existing Imperial forces - the guys that patrol the roads and the foresters? How about if some of the rebels combine to attack the IC? Or maybe just the waterfront? There is already a mod that puts guards on the walls in the waterfront of the IC. Possibly that could be incorporated. Maybe some large bandit band with a charismatic leader could get ambitious too and 1. stage his own revolt, 2. join with one of the factions, 3. Join with Imperial forces. 4.? Return of the Mythic Dawn - they could be behind some of the rebels. Lots of possibilities here.

Abramul
You mentioned that you'd gotten a fair-sized NPC battle to run reasonably well. What sort of computer was that on?
ninja_lord666
You mentioned that you'd gotten a fair-sized NPC battle to run reasonably well. What sort of computer was that on?I didn't think of that, but I'd be interested to know, too. I have a Dell XPS 420, and I want to see if I could get a big battle on that...without potentially crashing the game! :D
CroMagFFS
You mentioned that you'd gotten a fair-sized NPC battle to run reasonably well. What sort of computer was that on? Core 2 Extreme 3.3 Ghz system, with dual ATI 3870's, 2 gig of low latency corsair ram. 40+ fps during 30 partners vs 40+ guards, chorrol south side. I built an AMD dual core system a few weeks ago but was not impressed with the CPU so that's a present to a family member, serves me right for trying to cut corners. The load during large npc battles is a CPU bottleneck. Some simple script commands for the attacking NPC's will massively lower the CPU load, it will run ok on a mid ranged system am convinced of that. I am shocked no one has made this common knowledge to allow for more large battle mods to be made. P.S. I got the shield up in those pictures because I'm getting battered by arrows on my left flank :) I was having too much fun to go into god mode - so there's a big ugly shield in the pictures but anyhow it's day 3 so lots more to come. cazaam
Hello I think that it would be better if it was a force of bandits, like an uprising. It could take place at the wf as they break through to the cityjust an idea.Have you considered havving a mod team? CroMagFFS
Hello I think that it would be better if it was a force of bandits, like an uprising. It could take place at the wf as they break through to the cityjust an idea.Have you considered havving a mod team? Hi, thanks for the post, I agree there's no reason not to have a battle or even many battles at the IC. Bandit battles require nothing more than to just be placed in the area, no AI modifications required and no need to make bandits respawn, kind of a "throwaway" battle but still lots of fun (the faction soldiers will respawn until their Faction leader is killed). You've given me a quest idea, thx ^^ If you look at a map of Cyrodiil the towns are arranged like spokes on a wheel, making the IC strategically very vulnerable to rebellion, hence the towns doing just that - but the people clearly want bandits too. Wolfy767
I just got finished reading the BoD mode and read about a Undead army and it made me think, Woudnt it be kewl if there was some real warfare in oblivion. I mean every nation has enemies but the idea of a civil war thats just genius! cant wait for this to come out! Some suggestion- Idk if this possilbe i dont think it is but maybe a form of cannon or siege equipment. Maybe add some strategic postition like Forts sourrended by deep rivers? i beleive theres some kinda Crocodile mod you could use that for moates. Maybe some mounted battles on horses might cuase allota lag for slower pc's but sounds kewl.
