Artakanda
Hey guys, So I have been playing Skyrim since release date and never had any technical issues.I decided to install a rather big texture overhaul and give it a try. However this really stretched out my loading times so I decided to delete it again.Stupid as I was I deleted way too many files in the Data folder. I think it f***ed up my game because I wasn't able to launch it anymore.I tried unistalling and reinstalling which doesn't help. I also tried validating the files with Steam but that doesn't seem to don aything either. As soon as I press Play in the launcher, the window launches and immediatly shuts down again. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks!

kingdark
what does directX got to do with it? Delete the entire folder of skyrim within your steam folder. Then hunt down the folder where your skyrim saves are, copy them, to back them up and then delete that folder too. Install the game either with cd if you got retail or download it via steam if you bought via steam. Have you tried playing in off-line mode to see what happens? Now, I don't know if this is right or not, but I have been told that you are allowed to install a crack of a regular game as long as you have the real game and not an illegal copy. I can only imagine that steam might complicate matters though. If it detects a crack it might mark your game as illegal. So that might not be an answer for you. Artakanda
Fixed it.What I forgot to do was deleting the skyrim folder after unistalling it. Apparently, some .esp files were still there and caused the game not to run.I unistalled again, deleted everything and that did the trick. Thanks for your help guys!
