Hey, anyone ever thought Of Dante's armor from Devil May cry 4? Just with a Black coat insted of red and a untucked White shirt with buttons on the shirt underneath the coat, and pants that go over the boots? (possible a belt or two crooked on the shirt.)

If anyone makes this mod it'll be so awesome. yes, i've seen the other dante mods but this one is gonna be different.

Thoes other...2, suck. (Oh, also make the longcoats sleeves half-length as in only down to the elbow.

and please make sure the gloves are fingerless.) I'd do it myself but I suck at mods.

Thanks in advance people!

Just because you think this doesn't mean everyone else will.

Example; I'd LOVE to have a black coat with a long red scarf reaching down to my ankles, I think it's great but does everyone else? No. Hell, I've even had some people say it's downright "gay" (The word's become like the phrase "Your mom" or "Noob", it just has no meaning anymore)

The only way you'd get this is if you made it yourself.

And don't think you're on your own with that, people here will help. And if you don't believe me, then head over to http://elderscrolls.filefront.com . Go to the Oblivion section in the forums, they'll help too.

What anyone personally thinks about the idea is beside the point. Even when something is asked that many people would want, it still doesn't get done because there are so few people who are free to do this sort of stuff well enough. These sorts of projects can also be cast aside early because of how certain elements being asked would behave in game. Maybe at the UESP forums people will say that requests are "gay", but most people around here tend to provide a bit more useful information as to why that idea is unlikely to happen.

As far as the idea goes, It might help people show interest by not putting down the work of other modders (who may just happen to show interest in this sort of project), and providing a clear idea of what you want made. Without images to work from, making new meshes of any kind can be difficult to make because the person making them may spend too much time just trying to figure out proportions and the design only for it to be something you aren't happy with. If you're asking for someone to show interest in your idea, you cannot expect them to do all the research and design work themselves.

Additionally, you should probably be familiar with how meshes are used and setup in the game and what is possible with weighted meshes. The reason why a long scarf might not work well in Oblivion is because there is no method of weighting the scarf that wouldn't look bad when moving or standing still. Worn items do not react to the game physics, they have to be weighted to the character bones. Meaning that the portions of the mesh will only move when a linked bone moves, and will only move in a similar fasion to how that bone moves. This is applicable here since we are dealing with a long coat. The lower portion of the coat would move with the legs, similar to how some of the ingame skirts move, or it would otherwise clip badly with everything. It cannot move like real cloth, so the result will always look a little off.

Well, I see what your saying but I really have no way to find meshes. modding was never really my thing, I tried Blender out and I uninstalled it within 2 minutes lol. Anyways, I have no idea where to find pictures of stuff like this. Thanks for the tips by the way.

You may have misunderstood my post, that's ok.

I wasn't trying to make a request here, I'm just using something I'd like as an example. And as for the gay thing, that wasn't UESP... that was my friends.

But as for the coat, I know they would have to go along with the skeleton, and as for the scarf, I know full well that would be a modder's nightmare to get a genuine flowing long scarf working properly, I just like it ever since I saw it done in Shinobi.

Edit: tylantt, it doesn't take two minutes to become a modeler, it takes hours, days, even MONTHS to get it done right. Just keep at it, you'll be amazed at what you'll find out.
