missoh
Not quite sure where to put this, let's hope it's the correct spot.I'm looking for a way to have my game only use custom clothing replacers on my character, rather than on all npcs, as a few seem to bug out and have parts of their bodies stretch off to well, oblivion. I suppose it might be something to do with the clothing being rigged for bbb, and me not using that system, since it's usually the chest area that explodes, and they're fine when the clothing comes off, but I really don't want to deal with that or fix it, and I don't care if all the npc women walk around wearing stuff that makes them look like a bulldog with lipstick on. Is there a quick and relatively painless/easy way to do this in tes construction set? It's only for a few specific clothing replacers. Thanks! SilverCobra126
To be honest, I don't think it is possible to directly set clothing replacers to work only for the player, due to how replacers function. The only way you could do it is if you made each clothing item contained within the replacers into new separate items, which could take quite a lot of time depending on how many clothing items in the game you were trying to replace. Since you mention the possibility of BBB rigging on the replacers being the cause to your issue, the easiest way to fix this would be to install the following mod: Coronerras Maximum Compatibility Skeleton This provides the necessary rigging on the skeleton to allow the BBB on the clothes to work correctly, without needing to install a BBB body replacer. missoh
I already have universal skeleton, and the compatability patch for UV 2.the strangest thing is that there will be two npcs wearing the same item, and are the same race, and only one will glitch it. It makes my brain do a flip and that is why I'd rather just see about removing their custom item wearing privileges, rather than working out why their chest is 10000000 miles wide and coming out the back of their spine. I've seen mods that do what I'm trying to (at least, I think they do) but they are for clothing I have no interest in. Uh, it's basically just 4 - 5 items, so not to many, really. I would be willing to switch them to non-replacers, if that is the only way. Edited December 9, 2011 by missoh
Nephenee13
Short answer is you can't. Long answer is you can, but you would have to introduce entirely new items to the game via a mod (instead of just a replacer), and only use those new items with the player character, while the NPCs use the vanilla or whatever replacer is required for your body mod. If you are having trouble with certain races glitching, you have some other problem that needs to be fixed.
missoh
like i said, I am fine with doing that, and if that's the only way, are there any guides on how to go about doing it?
Nephenee13
Well, you'd need to learn to use the CS and make an item-adding mod. Its not something I've done yet, but there are a number of CS tutorials. Check the CS Wiki and TESAlliance.
missoh
I've messed around in CS and done some minor race edits with it, but haven't touched clothing (apart from changing stuff into armour/changing light armour and heavy armour) so that's why I was wondering about tutorials. Thanks anyway, i'll go have a look.
