evacyn
This is my first time modding, and I finally started updating the DB armour today, but I've run into a bit of a snag. I wanted to use the Necromancer boots with the new armor, so I updated the DDS file and dropped it in the 'dbarmor' folder, as well as copying the Necromancer mesh to the appropriate 'dbarmor' folder under 'Mesh'. The problem is, the changes I make to the DDS file don't show up in the game... except for one instance. If I only invert the image in Photoshop and then save the file, the changes appear in-game (white boots). Otherwise, all of the updates I've made don't show up. I've even copied the updated Necromancer textures/meshes to the Necromancer folder just in case the game was looking at that folder instead of the 'dbarmor'. Anyone have an idea? Is there something with the DDS file?
rebalious
Its been a while but if I remember correctly the texture (path) a mesh uses is saved to the mesh itself rather than changing to mirror its folder location. In other words it should still be using the original texture (path), so you would have to change the original texture or change where the actual mesh is looking. Sorry if I'm way off target in what you were asking.

Thanks for your reply! :) I took your advice and tried it out, but couldn't get it to work for the Necromancer (or Warlock boots - which are similar). It did work for the Monk boots, though - so I have to ask: Are there textures applied to the other boots that would override changes I make to the texture? I.e., there is another layer of dirt, etc. applied on top which would hide any changes I make? And when I inverted the texture (so that it was white), I somehow removed or hid that second texture? shittakaburi
Yes, there can be several textures applied to a piece of clothing. Could be you are changing the wrong one. Best thing to do is load the mesh up in nifskope. You'll be able to see all the textures it uses and isolate them.
