shittakaburi
Your troubleshooting is all over the place. With a problem this pervasive, you need to be more methodical. Uninstall Skyrim completely. Delete any left over files that don't get removed. Install again from Steam or disk. Create a new game. Run to Whiterun at the first opportunity. If it crashes here, you know your system does not like 1.3. Assuming it does not crash, open up the console and type "save testingpoint" and now you can start adding more mods back in, one at a time. As you add a mod, perform the following steps each time.1. Activate the mod.2. Load "testingpoint"3. Go into whiterun.4. leave whiterun.5. Go back into whiterun and tap F5.6. Leave Whiterun and tap F9.7. If there are no errors, close the game and start over with the next mod. This is a pain in the ass, but proper troubleshooting is. ninjachicken1
I've been having the same problems (or at least very similar problems) to Raella33. If I leave Jorrvaskr/Dragonsreach, the game hangs on the loading screen. It also does the same thing if I try and load a save in Whiterun or Skyrim after experiencing this bug. I can load these saves, but before I do so I must enter an indoor area outside Whiterun (Bleak Falls Barrow Temple and Helgen Keep work fine) by loading a save in that area or using the console to teleport - code is here: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Console_Commands_%28Skyrim%29#coc_.3Ccell_id.3E Two things:1. Disable all your mods. Still can't? Not a mod.2. Start a new game. run "coc whiterundragonsreach". Walk outside. Still crashing? It's your installation, re-install. Not crashing? Your save is corrupted. I've disabled all my mods except Simple Borderless Window (more on that below). Still no joy. I started a new game and warped to Dragonsreach once my bindings were off. Again no joy. So I uninstalled Skyrim, wiped all of C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim except the Mods folder (which I made myself, and I don't believe effects the game in any way) and then waited 2 days for Steam to reinstall over my slow internet connection. Again, the problem persisted. I noticed something interesting next which may be a red herring. I had installed a mod called Simple Borderless Window. It doesn’t show up in my mods directory/Nexus Mod Manager and is supposed to run through a separate executable file. When I wiped my skyrim folder I thought that mod would be gone but for some reason it activates whenever I start Skyrim. Worse, I cannot find any trace of the mod on my computer even though it obviously is still taking effect. I don’t know if any similar mods like SKSE or FXAA post process injector or 4GB Skyrim are still on my PC and running when I launch Skyrim in a similar way in a way I can’t detect, but SBW is obvious. I’ve started a separate thread referencing this one about this issue here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?showtopic=550433
MShoap13
Did you get rid of your config files when you reinstalled? Certain Map Menu tweaks are known to cause this. Your issues with SBW seems odd. You should use the archive you downloaded for SBW to trace any files it may have placed in your \Skyrim\ directory. If you're 100% positive all of it's assets are gone then I'd start to wonder if Windows UAC may be playing with your installation. How are you launching the game by the way? ninjachicken1
Did you get rid of your config files when you reinstalled? Certain Map Menu tweaks are known to cause this.I think the problems just been solved. I was using World Map in Full 3D - Full. Between your post and mine, I decided to replace it with World Map in Full 3D - Limited. Now I can leave Jorrvaskr/Dragonsreach whenever I please. Thanks for pointing that out, I'd never have figured out how I fixed it otherwise. If anyone is having the same problem, could you try what I did and confirm whether it works for you? MShoap13
I've had this issue myself and narrowed it down to the three lines regarding map pitch. I've seen someone else claim it was the minimum and maximum height settings for them and for some reason this usually takes place with Whiterun. Though, I've seen one person claim issues with random areas in The Rift and on the Throat of the World related to the pitch settings..
