Pat3232 Posted October 4, 2016 Share Posted October 4, 2016 Yeah I have been trying to get my skyrim to run at 4k for ages now but the higher I set the resolution the more the screen is cut off cant seem to find a solution anywhere I have a phillips phl bdm 4065 screen and have never had a problem like this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bill8872 Posted October 4, 2016 Share Posted October 4, 2016 This game, or your video card can't handle that. This game resolution setting must be the same as the monitor you're using. monsieurpooh Posted November 11, 2020 Share Posted November 11, 2020 I experienced this same exact issue and I think I'm literally the only person in the world who figured out the solution. Shame on whomever thinks that video card being not powerful enough can cause screen cropping issues; that makes zero logical sense. This is a rare issue because it only happens in specific circumstances, usually upgrading to a higher-resolution monitor. Somehow something in Skyrim still assumes you're still using your old resolution. Therefore in Borderless Window mode, your old resolution will appear as full screen. What fixed it was to launch once with borderless/window both UNCHECKED, then this somehow resets Skyrim to know your new native resolution; then you can check it again and launch in 4k.
