Croatia

I have been to Croatia three times. The first two times was when it was still part of Yugoslavia. I visited Dubrovnic first and then I drove along the coast from Piran to Split, taking in Krk, Zadar and Trogir among other places. The most recent visit took me from Ljubljana in Slovenia by road to Zagreb and Varazdin. I think on this trip I stayed in a castle in the middle of a river at a place called Otocec, although I may have that wrong.

It is a strangely shaped country but very interesting for a tourist.

I've been to Croatia quite a few times. First time when I was 9 months old, counting from the day I was conceived. :D

@Malchik: Strangely shaped indeed. But there are good reasons for it although it's not really obvious, actually it's probably quite obscure for anyone who didn't study the history of Croatia in time of the Turkish expansion into Europe...

I've been, mainly to Dubrovnic. It's a nice place to visit, friendly to tourists and reasonably priced for food and shopping. Was a clean palce too - I didn't see the 'dark side' of any city I visited (though that's probably the intention), however it's close to italy which I spent three years in, and in many small towns, it's the same.

A good place all around - visit, if you haven't.
