psychoden
Hello. Sorry for making a request instead of doing myself. However, I have no software or tools to do what I am envisioning. If possible, may I ask for an "on-person" and "on-ground" 3d mesh? A mesh that would be a simple enlargement of any of the claymore type swords... so much so that in reality, such a sword wouldn't be possible. However, that's why we play games, right? :D Specifically: A 3d mesh for a swordblade width-as wide as 2-3 human bodies within the oblivion universe (so about 9 feet wide blade)blade length-as long as possible-i wish it could be made such that it would be longer than the height of the central tower of the capitaland the handle is just kept the same, so the person's hand would be visible... I ask for nothing else. Just scaling of a 3d model. No skin acts or anything, and not even havoc effects. I merely ask for a scaled model. :( Not even a mod-just a model... Can the model be given both as a one-handed and two-handed sword? Thank you so much... EDIT: At the same time, would it also be possible for me to ask for a scaled model of a bow? This one without any special modifications, just a scale model for the on-person and on-ground meshes... For example, the current daedric bow scaled such that the lower tip would touch the ground and the upper tip would be as high up as the height of two persons... And arrows might also be scaled accordingly.. I'm really sorry for asking this to you busy people... But I have absolutely no skill at all in 3d modelling. I believe this would be a simple matter if only I could learn... just scaling parts of a model, without any work in havoc physics or the actual skin... Thank you so much. Vagrant0
For weapons, ground mesh is the same as equipped mesh. You cannot set them up seperately. As for the huge weapon idea, it's already been done a few times, try searching for it. Most people aren't interested in making more of these just because of how badly they work with Oblivion. psychoden
Thing is, I searched for:1. sword- too may results2. huge weapon-???3. giant weapon-???4. large weapon-??? I've been looking for this off and on, but didn't receive anything. The only closest thing to this I could find was the could buster sword, which isn't too big... What I'm looking for is just an absurdly giant, irl impossible size...

If that doesn't work, try searching for "big" "Giant" "large" ect.
psychoden
Did that already. Will try again. Edit: 1. advanced search-"huge" in description-nothing as I said, buster sword is too small. 2. advanced search-"big"-TOO MANY RESULTS 3. advanced search-"giant" NOTHING 4. advanced search-"large" NOTHING ------------------------------------------------------------------ I really did do these searches. Is there any way for me to just do it myself? Download 3Dmax, open up one of the mesh files, and just making it bigger-will this do the trick? I mean, I'm sure the modern software will for sure allow something simple as "scaling," right? :(
Vagrant0
Dunno, coulda sworn I saw several made in the early days of modding. The new website setup kinda makes it hard to sort through things. Anyway, what I said about them is still valid. They just look bad (in the classical meaning). Due to how weapons are worn, drawn, and used, very large weapons just don't work well. Nevermind the fact that dropping it in world could lead to serious issues depending on how large the blade is and how small the space is. For weapons, ground items use the same mesh as worn items. This cannot be changed. As for making it yourself. First is that you cannot legally download 3dsmax. There are however blender tutorials which should provide enough information to do something like this. But it isn't a matter simply changing the scale, you need to change the handle size so that it looks right, you need to maintain the corret positioning with the origin, and need to adjust all the weapon physics to match the enlarged mesh. It's not that complicated really, but the real issue is about how poorly they work and look in game.
psychoden
Would I be able to do something similar with a NiFSkope? I really don't even need it to have correct physics or anything like that even. It could keep the physics of a normal weapon and just have an appearance of a genuinely gigantic weapon. I see that NiFSkope is a free utility that says I could edit the 3d models. Would this be enough?
Abramul
NifSkope can change the scale of a mesh. Search for posts of mine with "pillow*" in them...think I detailed the procedure there. This is good enough for giant weapons intended only as props, for instance the club in the basement of the Imperial Palace. However, getting a playable weapon to look right needs more than just scaling, as Vagrant mentioned. While NifSkope can change vertex coordinates, I wouldn't care to bet on your getting an acceptable mesh that way.
psychoden
Oh... Ok. Another question... I don't really need any other change. If even the width change is too much, then all I need is it's length to be extremely lengthened. It doesn't really need to be playable with the correct physics-I just need something that would look giant but the physics can follow the "original," normal sword. Would even this be too much for NiF Skope? Should I try to obtain 3dMax?
psychoden
:( Is there ANY way I can change the origin of the material so that I can change where in the handle the character holds? :(
