You wouldn't even have to populate the world with them...

*Cue Breton Scientist/ snake-oil salesman kind of guy* "My dear boy, I have with me the most marvelous device, capable of propelling a metal ball..."etc etc.

And as he leaves on his horse "unfortunately I have no idea how to find the explosive powder. Perhaps ask an alchemist?" Cue quest.

A bow would be more effective.

More effective than what? A gun?

I made a musket (looks less blocky) but Im not good at animating/UV unwrapping

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/555291-musket-not-uv-unwrapped-yet/

So if any one wants to help me get it in-game I would probably appreciate it

actually I can try to do anims (gotta learn to do it any way for school)

I just need some tips with UV Unwrapping

Yes. At best your getting an arquebus or caliver, at worst a hand culverin. Both of which are inferior to the bow, one on one, and damage output wise (or real life DPS). A lot of variables with early firearms, and even then they are mostly used for lowering enemy morale. Couple that with round shots from farther distances actually bouncing off of plate armor (the way armor was tested during the 16-19th centuries), you get an ineffective killing tool when used in small numbers. Effectively a one man phalanx, which is as ineffective as they get. En masse, is a different story.

In a rational world that functions according to physics as we know it and has only the technology of the time period, yes.

Skyrim has DRAGONS.

Skyrim has DRAGONS.

Dragons, nor real world physics have to do with rudimentary firearms being non optimal. Quite the opposite. The fact that Nirn doesn't work like the real world, that all four, arguably five fundamental interaction can and are broken on a regular basis furthers the argument of the lack of need for firearms. Its simple logic and understanding of antiquated firearms, coupled with an understanding of Nirn and lore. All of which I know.

I have no problem with the mod. Single player games, play how you like. I'm just stating for lore and deductive reasoning there would be no need, nor way to produce effective firearms. You don't just go from demi-cannon, and early mortars (what is in Nirn lore), to rifled, percussion cap firearms.

i'm a total noob so don't kill me if i say something without sense, but since the problem is the animation of the player holding the rifle, isn't it possible to extract the animation from a fallout game like new vegas and, doing some mumbo jumbo modifications i don't understand, put it in skyrim, maybe it won't be perfect but maybe that would be a first step in the process
