Legend of the Mojave: An Appeal

When I look at New Vegas; the expansive Mojave more precisely I am taken back to the tales of the old west. True a lot of the events and quests and characters in the game have been inspired by westerns, I feel there is so much more potential.

 

While my idea for my mod isn't truly original, I hope to someday be able to create a mod that pays tribute to the wild west, a mod that is as expansive as a DLC pack and creates an entirely new experience for new vegas.

 

I'm talking the whole shebang, saloons, gun fights, whoring, outlaws, sheriffs, hold em poker, bar brawls, journeys and an epic treasure hunt (unlike the gib-fest that was Dead Money). Living the lives of frontiersmen in post-war atomic age.

 

I myself have just gotten into modding (read total amateur) but I was hoping I could appeal to the more experienced modders on the nexus to aid me, guide me or better yet string along for the ride.

 

I really loved RDR and somehow I see elements from that game existing in the mojave all around, though in bits an pieces, I hope someone out here can help me put the pieces together and create something that will make our wait for the next wasteland sojourn shorter and more bearable.

This is a great idea, my advice would be to start small. Make an outline of what you want to bring into the game and move up from there. Baby steps, you've got to learn to walk before you can run and all that. Projects like this take time and talent.

 

From your post I see you have great ideas: bar brawls, poker games, treasure hunts, etc. Focus on one for now it will be easier to get some feedback. :thumbsup:

Thanks for your encouraging words Shantih, I do intend to take baby steps, I still got a long ways to go before calling myself even a halfways decent modder. But definitively going to work on this. Just hoping to get others on board who have more experience.

 

Sadly i'm one of those people who have ideas but zilch know-how, so getting there first is where I need to be. But again from whatever i've experienced with G.E.C.K it seems doable.
