You need to watch Westworld on HBO

Ok folks, if you ever wondered what would happen to the world if the apocalypse hadn't happened, but some of the same narratives still did, you must watch HBO's new show, Westworld. This is what an alternative narrative of the world would be like if an Institute like organization had still come to power, and yes, their synths. Wow, it's a show for sure. Do watch the first episode.

Or perhaps even read the science fiction classic, A Canticle for Liebowitz, which spoke to the need for the Brotherhood of Steel.

Or watched Blade Runner. The synths are effectively replicants. There is even a Voight-Kampff-like test in Fallout4 for detecting synths. In the book Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, most animals were synths. In FO4 there are synth animals too.

I watched the original Westworld the other night, it was good, but not as good as I remembered. The series seems pretty good, so far.

Westworld is pretty good, and was written by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park). It is also run by Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins). Uncomfortably creepy at times.
