rpjacks
I don't know if anyone said this before, I'm new here. I know nothing about making mods, and frankly I'm too damn old to start learning now. I would like to see a mod though, one where a Dwarf could be a mage. I understand it would entail removing a restriction from the creation process, but I think it would rock.
Shantih
For Dragon Age Origins you can use the Adopted or All Origins Playable mods or you can use the toolset to modify your save so your character becomes like a Dwarf. You will need a dwarf morph (either a new one or an existing one) and the toolset: http://social.bioware.com/page/da-toolset Open the toolset, Select open file (CTRL+O) browse dragon age/characters/[character name]/saves/slot_1 and open the .das file of your savegame. Reach SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_MORPH_NAME and type the name of your dwarf mrh file at the end of the line. Find SAVEGAME_CREATURE_RACE and replace the number (2 for elf, 3 for human) with 1 (for dwarf). Find SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_TYPE and type 3 (for a dwarf). Don't forget to save. ;) This will work (but it will be messy if you start shapeshifting): http://static.dragonagenexus.com/imageshare/images/914914-1285927562.jpg Edited December 10, 2011 by Shantih
Whocares65
You can use the console to change your character's class. See here for more information: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Console_(Origins) Console Command Effect on Characterrunscript roguex # Makes player a Rogue with level #runscript warriorx # Makes player a Warrior with level #runscript wizardx # Makes player a Mage with level #runscript dogx # Makes player a War Dog with level #runscript shale # Makes player a Shale with level # To avoid the problems mentioned in the article, you can add talents to your character and give yourself access to magic skills. Shantih
The problem with console commands like these is that you would still have to play the Dwarf origins. What I've suggested can be used to play the Mage origin as a Dwarf.
