jstLoner
THE PROBLEM: How many times have you been low on health/mana/stamina and were forced to open the menu, scroll through numerous potions in your inventory in search for the ones you need only to repeat the same boring process a few seconds later? Most RPGs nowadays allow you to use a potion you need by just pressing one key without interrupting the combat. Now I know there's an ability to favorite items and all that, but you can only favorite 8, most of which you've probably already assigned to your favorite weapons and spells. Taking into account that there are different variations of each potion - minor, regular, ultimate, and so on - there's simply not enough hotkeys to assign all of them. Not to mention that once you run out of a certain type of potions - you have to later find them in your inventory again, refavorite them and reassign hotkeys to them. Unfortunately I've never made any mods so I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement this, but I'd still like to share this idea and hope that someone might make it into a mod: POSSIBLE SOLUTION: The idea is to add 3 new hotkeys - Quick Heal, Quick Magicka, and Quick Stamina - by pressing any of them the player would automatically consume the weakest corresponding potion in his inventory. For example, if player has 5 Minor Healing Potions, 3 Healing Potions and 1 Ultimate Healing Potion in his inventory - if he presses Quick Heal key - he will consume 1 Minor Healing Potion. Once player runs out of Minor Healing Potions - Quick Heal would use regular Healing Potions. Once he's out of those too - Quick Heal would use Ultimate Healing potion. Same for stamina and magicka potions. That is just the basic concept. I understand that some people might prefer using stronger potions first and use weaker potions last, or even create their own custom order (via a text file that is read by the mod, or maybe via some in-game interface). Or maybe even let the mod decide which potion should be used depending on how much HP/MP/Stamina is missing. I hope you liked this idea. Please share your opinions and/or ideas on how this should be implemented. Edited December 11, 2011 by jstLoner

jstLoner
The bigger problem is no scripting, ask again after CK.Well, it looks that there finally is a script extender released and some really nice mods are starting to pop up.So, I'm asking again: would this be possible and would someone be kind enough to make such mod? :P
