japmsn
I raised my smithing level to make the Daedric armor and weapons, but the stats listed at the forge are lower than what I've seen in some videos and I always see people commenting the same (why mine are lower) but haven't been able to find an answer. Besides the smithing level what affects the initial stats of the armors? or is it that the stats are fixed and it simply changes as you aquire different perks on heavy armor like full set and whatnot. I just want to know if I can safely make the armor now and the stats will raise as I spend more perks in heavy armor. Thanks in advance.
Moredhel
I'd say your level + heavy armor skill + upgrading at the workbench = amount of armorpoints you get, but I might be wrong ofcourse... I'm too busy killing things to worry about that ^^
Handofbane
Not sure if the character level affects the actual armor rating, but your armor skill (with perks) plus upgrades all do. If you cranked out pure smithing (not counting abuse of enchanting/alchemy to boost it even more), without actually getting hit repeatedly to boost your heavy armor skill, you will see much lower numbers til you start getting out there and taking hits. Similarly, you will see a massive gain as you pump points into the heavy armor perks - specifically the first 5-point perk, as well as the set bonus ones on the right side of the tree. I'd say I have a decent level on heavy armor according to my char's level, I just need to put some perks there, the thing is, does it matter what I do first? If I make the armor right now, as I add perks I should see higher stats right? Well, I'll try with those first 5 perks you mention and see if anything changes. Thanks a lot both of you guys, see ya ~
FreakyName
The armor will have a base number. The higher the armor skill, the higher that number then becomes. So, in short, no making the armor now will not make any difference. I have watched my armor rating jump as I got better heavy armor skill, so don't sweat it. blitzcreek13
i think its all about the heavy armor perks on that one. It takes the perks into account when you are in the forge menu so someone with juggernaut 2/5 may have it show 70 armor and someone with 5/5 it may show it as 100 armor.
