Kitee
Im running v. 1.2.0.201 with Shivering Isles at the moment. just downloaded Oblivion Mod manager, but having some problems making my mod work. Put the mod files into Oblivion/data, and noticed it where automaticly uploaded.. I tried bouth with "X" on oblivion.esm and not. (files; Disenchant.esp)What is happening, is that i get the "disenchant learning scroll", able to upload the spell... but spell aint working.Same with the delete spell mod, wasnt able to get up any menus, nor making it work as it should. what to do to get this working? leetgamer
I never trusted OBMM, so that's why I install all the mods I download manually. Extract the files to a temporary location (say desktop for example) make whatever changes needed, then cut/copy-paste to your Oblivion/Data folder. Make sure it's only the esp/meshes/textures. Mods intend to come in folders, don't copy the folder, it's better if you just copy files in it. Make sure you read the instructions properly. Kitee
Okei, i see.. But there is one thing i dont really understand.. Is there just enough to put the "disenchant.esp" into Oblivion/data/ folder? nothing need to be edited or so?
leetgamer
Nope. Make sure you activate the esp in the data files when the Oblivion launcher starts.
mat1
I've got to agree with Chingun on this one. OBSM is just designed to confuse the masses. If your after a great mod manger use wyre bash (google it) and READ the instructions... But unless your using heaps of overlapping mods I don't think you really need to bother. I've only come across 1 mod that wasn't organised into the right files. So all you really need to do is get a good decompression tool (see the huge number of posts on this topic, I prefer winrar (again google it)) and just "extract to". As long as you extract the 'data' folder into you oblivion directory and then check it in the load up screen you should have no worries. Have a look in your oblivion folder every now and then and check for anomalies. For example. 'c:\...\oblivion\textures" (all texture files should be in the "....\oblivion\data\textures folder")"c:\...\oblivion\data\data...." (copy the contents of the 2nd data folder into the base data folder) etc... Don't forget to check the 'esp' in the 'data files' option of the splash screen. good luck.
