spraynpray9932
Yes, another one of these threads. Every time i spawn into a settlement. no matter which one, 3 things always happen. The settlers get stuck in the foundations of buildings, there all up on a roof with no stairs to get up there. Or, they all spawn in the same exact spot and wont move. This happens regardless of the location of the settlement, number of people in the settlement, or any of the job/leisure positions in the settlement. Now, it gets even better, if the settler isnt stuck doing one of the 3 above, they are usually outside the walls of the settlement, even outside of the settlement building boundry standing there, doing nothing. And now, my favorite part, you set up walls, strategically placed defense post and turrets. traps etc. What do your settlers do? They all group up, run out the closest door/gate all run straight towards the enemy, setting off your traps, while getting shot by your allied turrets in the back. Not to mention, how turrets detection range seems to be completely random, some times, they will fire at targets 100 meters away, then sometimes a raider can literally run up to the gate and open it before the turrets even target him. Shall i also mention how enemy spawn points are within the building boundary of some settlements?(mod fixes that luckily) Now i know why Bethesda made them immortal to everything but player damage. there to lazy to fix the horrible AI that honestly just ruins the settlement mode. I can stand the horrible user interface, horrible object snapping and random graphical bugs i get in settlements, but spawning into a settlement and seeing 20 people swimming in concrete is just frustrating. Sincerely, someone that has tried to make a realistic settlement, but instead, was able to watch some of the worst AI to date.
tarsis31
AI is notoriously hard to code. Bethesda gave us junk walls that didn't snap. You connect the dots.
