So...I have a question Stargate+Skyrim

With these "ancient caves" would they be better as "not mapped" as in you just have to find them, or should they be mapped?

(ancient caves would be where you find the Stargate dialing device (DHD) fragments and stargate addresses, and of course one would actually house the stargate),

these fragments would be known as "Fragment of unknown device" until you find the ancient cave that actually houses the Stargate and find out what the stargate is, then the fragments would be known as "DHD Fragment"

Then as i was saying before, once all the fragments have been collected, a new Daedra repairs the DHD, and off you go into the universe exploring new worlds and conquering new formidable enemies...

First and foremost i think, the whole stargate stuff the hightech bases and such should be at the very end of a long questline. Keep in mind that noone ever discovered them yet, there must be a reason for that. One could be that the entrace door to the base (even if the vault doors from fallout are forbidden to use) is made by an advanced civilization to keep the entrance blocked. And our playerchar prolly doesnt even know its a door when discovering it..or thinking it leads to hell or whatever. How should the playerchar know how to use a computer to open the door..if its locked with a code..how to insert the code without the knowledge about computers.

Think about to teach a cavemen how to insert a line of numbers on a keyboard^^

My idea would be that the entrance to the base, the huge door and the controle device to open it was used as a shrine from a long forgotten clan of nords, native skyrims. Perhaps the player finds a book or a note in a dusty cabinet somewhere in a museum or in the magic college..asking around some at old wise people about it...gathering signs scattered all over skyrim first before even finding the entrance to cave wich leads down to the base entrance..at the very end..and then, standing infront of that strange wall (the door) without any idea what it is...needs further investigation..before realizing its a door after all..and then...find a way to open it..perhaps in some stonewritings in that cave wich has to be combined somehow...

Yes, definitely, It would be a long quest just to find and understand what the stargate is, once the stargate is found, the stargate, the DHD, and the MALP (the earth drone) will be the most unusual things seen for a while. The first bunch of trips through the gate will be exploring type missions finding other gate addresses and unusal items with lands and objects similar to what is seen in skyrim (with a few changes of course to show a difference in worlds) then further down the quest line maybe some more hi-tech stuff will be seen, but much further into it. Of course, the new enemies (Jaf'fa and Goa'uld) will likely be seen early on after traveling through the gate the first time. I presume this will be a massive project that is both fun to build and fun to play....

A stargate is possible, and would not be too hard to make using Dwemer parts and maybe something like the animation from the dragon claw doors already in use. The hard part would be creating the new world on the other side.
