Strange Issue with NMC texture mod

Hello :) , I have installed NMC retexture mod medium but I encountered a problem after some game sessions (34 hours of play as steam says). It didn't happen in the early game time, and it doesn't happen always, but when it happens I start to see one terrain textures in the sky instead of sky textures (I'm using also nevada skies URWLified). I can save but if i try to reload any save after that, the game just remain stuck loading and i have to shut it down from task manager. In the savegame snapshot I see always the wrong texture, and also if I re-load the game and open that save. Another thing is that when the problem happens, i can't exit the game normally because if i try to do so, the game just hangs after i say "yes" and i have again to shut it down via task manager.

 

Anyway, I can't find which mod is guilty of causing the problem, if it's not NMC mod itself. I'm not sure it's 100% NMC fault because as I said, I didn't encounter this problem in the early hours of play so I guess that it could be another mod causing this. Here's the list of mods I have installed right now (NMC not included because I have already uninstalled it). They should be pasted in the right loading order, since i just copied the content of the file "plugins.txt" located into FNV appdata folder. I hope I can find the source of the problem with your help!!

Besides the mods, i use also New Vegas Configator and the 4Gb mod (NVSE compliant version). Tell me if I need to post the configator options i have changed (there are a few of them).

 

My pc specs:

 

CPU: Sandybridge 2630 2Ghz

RAM: 4Gbs

GPU: Radeon 6970M 2Gb

Now i'm pretty sure NMC mod doesn't have anything to do with the error, since I uninstalled it and installed all OJO BUENO texture packs. I have also resetted all the options I've changed with configator to default, so it has to be something else that's causing the problem...

 

 

Speaking of OJO BUENO textures is it normal that nexus mod manager shows 4 copies of each pack in the mod list? I just installed one of each and seems to work...

 

I noticed that one OJO BUENO pack (not sure which one actually) replaced a texture of nevada skies mod... I'll try to reinstall nevada skies and then test if the issue repeats

It's unlikely the nmc pack or ojo bueno pack are causing it as they only replace files with the same name (if installed correctly), in other words, ground textures can't appear in the sky unless you have renamed a ground texture to a sky texture.

 

My bet is that you installed NSkies incorrectly .. try uninstalling that .. I'd also suggest installing Project Reality instead of that :)

Yeah, apparently I'm dumb or something... I was sure I installed everything, instead for some reason I installed only the night variants of skies, and not the main mod :facepalm: The problem seems fixed, although I encounter some CTD and hangs, but I'll save that for another round :rolleyes:

 

Anyway, thank you for project reality, i'll look forward into that, seems very nice :thumbsup:

 

Every time I look at something I find at least 5 new mods I want to install, it's unbelievable :laugh:
