Nikolaj11
Hello So I spent my morning searching various forums for a fix but it seems like I am out of luck on this one, although I do have a hunch what might have caused my troubles. I have for some time had issues with random CTD's, I never noticed a pattern so I didn't pay it much mind. I figured that's what can happen in a modded game, and it was never more frequent than once or twice each session. Now, I have had one issue before around Goldenglow estate where I would crash on fast travel, this fixed itself when I entered Riften and fast traveled form there, no issues then, so I assumed it might have been a texture mod, since lots of stuff is going on at Goldenglow. Then just now I started doing the main quest, which I have held off of on a while but my game could not process the Sahlokonir(?) fight and would crash a couple of seconds after he took off of the ground. I searched the forums and came up with "Deadly Dragons" mod as the culprit, so I disabled it and reloaded a save just before Sahl and Alduin was loaded into the viewable range. The fight proceeded and I could complete the quest with Delphine. But just after the crashes would persist when I traveled around the world. I reloaded a couple of times and eventually made it to the nearby orc town where it crashed when I brawled the local chief. I decided to try and change a few things with my mode and ini file(which is remembered that I had edited once to load more cells) since the crashes were mostly frequent outside I figured my grid load number might be higher than what my PC can handle. I also noticed my mod load order was out of whack from what I remembered it was supposed to look like so I changed that. Things I did:Changed my ini file, grid load from 9 to 7.Changed my load order so my texture mods were at the top. Crash Deleted documents/my games/skyrim filesDisabled texture mods Crash These crashes are near-instant. I don't get to go into the game world, it is as soon as the loading screen comes on. The odd thing is that I can still load one file, and one file only: the very first. The file I made just before choosing race just after the cart part of the intro. So my assumption is that it is a mod that uses SKSE and a custom mod option menu that causes my problems, since those are not loaded on my very first save. Otherwise my saves just corrupted, but it seems odd that all but one of them would do that at once. Anyway, I ran out of ideas and hoped someone here might help me out. The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling the game and its mods completely, which I am unwilling to spend the time to do. I would rather start anew since that appears to work. But if anyone has tried a familiar problem and have a suggestion as to what might be the cause or fix I would love to hear it. My system is 64 bit, 8GB ram, 3,50 Hrz, quad core, GTX 970, windows 7. My load order is:Game and DLC filesESM filesHigh res texture pack 1,2,3Unofficial High res patchEverything else Thank you!
WastelandAssassin
as far as i know, corrupted saves do tend to happen when you play with mods, and especially so if you remove mods mid-play, especially if you don't remove them properlysome mods actually describe how to safely remove them, so you should check if you've done so for the mods that you've removed other than that, i do believe that there are ways to somewhat fix corrupted saves, assuming that this is indeed the cause on another note, what tool are you using for mod management? and did you install your mods through that mod manager or manually?because as far as i know, the only way to truly remove mods is through Mod Organizer, as it doesn't touch your original data folder if nothing else helps, a fresh reinstall of the game, cleaning the .esm files with TES5Edit, then trying to load your saves again, isn't too much work, and it could help quite a lot hope this helps :)
Nikolaj11
Just nexus modmanager and steam workshop, I just disabled deadly dragons from nexus. The mod order is manual, in the game launcher. I just set it as advised with vanilla first, ESM second, textures third and then everything else at random. WastelandAssassin
this is actually a very poor decisionload orders are super important, and you should really make sure to set them properly i would really recommend you get familiar with Mod Manager, as it's probably the best mod manager for Skyrimyou should also use a load order sorted to make sure your load order is done properly, as not doing so can result in many problems, and with mods not working as intended, as they overwrite one another you should also take into account that a lot of mods require SKSE, and so you need to launch the game through the SKSE executable file all in all, my best recommendation to you is to go to YouTube, find Gopher's channel, and look at the tutorial series he has for using mods, and his videos on Mod Managerit might take a bit of your time, but modding your game properly now, can save you a lot of hassle when you are quite invested in the character (nothing worse then loosing a character you've already invested 100+ hours in) i do hope you manage to solve your problems, and if you require more help, this is probably the best site to ask for itgood luck, and enjoy :)WA
