phorgotten99
So i have been racking my brain on this little problem. I have figured out everything i need for custom classes, but it will not let me add new races with body included. The head and everything else shows up perfectly fine, just no body at all. It also will not show armor when placed on the body. It does however show weapons and magic. Any body have any ideas?
punxdog
Would you mind sharing a stripped esp with the problem. I am having a similar issue but was trying monsters and they don't show up at all, which may or may not be related. I figure any info is good, here's my esp. Hey, I think it has something to do with formid's not being read correctly. As i can use formid's of other npc's and the body show's fine. Not sure if this is a string problem or if it only allows certain formid combinations, or if there is some cache somewhere. This also happens with spells, some formid's work fine, while others cause problems.
punxdog
Yeah, I absolutely agree it's somehow related to the formID's. I've tried everything to get new ones to work. Same in regards to the MGEF, they seem not to work for 'new' ones. Though, having said that, there is at least one example of someone making them work, ie, Tytanis got new MGEF's working but I can't figure out what the difference was for him. I could only get them to work if I replace existing ones?
Vagrant0
I think there are some extra settings either on the clothing or on the race which determines what it can and cannot wear. This is probably one of those things which will be abundantly obvious when the CK is released, but is hard to determine looking at the entries in a tool which is not designed for the game and therefore may not know what to do with various bits of data. phorgotten99
I can get new spel and mgef formid's to work fine, i use them with my class mod. In regards to vagrant, if i take a current race, and just change the form id, then change all the formid's in the presets to point to that formid, it still does not show body, there must be another place that references formids for races...just dont know where. Vagrant0
there must be another place that references formids for races...just dont know where.Kinda what i said. Some of the equipments and clothing for example seem to be only usable by certain races, eg; Drugar, mannequins and children. Since you're using FO3edit to make/change the entries, there will be some things which it doesn't know how to handle since those things weren't present in FO3. It doesn't hurt to familiarize yourself with some of the stuff, but most modding won't be possible until the CK is released or until an updated editor is made which has some of those missing things figured out and accounted for. If you're really bothered by it, you might be able to compare some things regarding what equipment does and does not show on mannequins and see if it relates to any common bytes in the equipment form between multiple pieces of equipment. This might help locate what settings are related or even if it is linked to some sort of list (LST) form that has applicable races for that equipment.
