ZombieInfected
I had cleared Geirmund's Hall before doing the Forbidden Legend quest. So, going back to the dungeon (which says cleared) Entering the room where the big fight took place (The teleport thing) - My quest marker is in the water of that room, but the corpse of Sigdis Gauldurson is nowhere to be found.Any tips? Can I reset the dungeon? Or spawn the item in a location where I can get it?
ZombieInfected
Damn - so I guess I'm the only one that has experienced this?Sigh, I'd hate giving up on a quest, because of a bug. :(
BrknSoul
If you're playing on the PC, you could try to use console commands to add the fragment to your inventory; help "name of item" 0 will give you a list of matches to "name of item" (quotes are needed if the item name has spaces), use the item's RefID to add the item; player.additem <RefID> <Count> eg player.additem 000423f3 1 will add 1 of item with that RefID to your inventory. Patchup94
BrknSoul has the solution. But are you sure you didn't loot it already?I know the amulet in Saarthanal exists without the quest being started. It in fact starts it if you loot it.I found that out when my mage did Saarth. before reading the book to start it.I would go check that shady trader whiterun. You might have sold it to him. Oh my theory might go out the window if it is a quest item, which you can't sell or store. Edited December 13, 2011 by Patchup94

Oh my theory might go out the window if it is a quest item, which you can't sell or store. I was wondering about this as well, this is what happened to me. I looted the cave before the actual quest and when I picked up the item (not knowing what it was at the time) the quest started at that point. That was in the first game. I have now started a second game with a new warrior and now have the problem of not being able to continue the quest because I need a key to enter Sarrthal. Since I don't want to do the mage thing again, I have abandoned this quest for now.
ZombieInfected
Yeah, that's a good guess, but my quest marker is still placed on the floor of the room where the big fight was, and I can't activate it.I'll try to look up the item code, but with the odd quest marker, I doubt it will make any difference. ZombieInfected
There seems to be two ways to fix this - player.additem ... BUT then the journal won't update, and you will run into more problems. Link The easiest way is to spawn the dead body of Galdurson (where I killed him) - and then loot him as normal. The quest journal will also update if you do this, and you can complete the quest normally. console: prid a5e68 <enter> enable <enter> Exit console.1. Problem fixed.2. Arrow to the knee.3. Profit. Edited December 14, 2011 by ZombieInfected

Killemall222
Skyrim Quest - Forbidden Legend - Geirmund's Hall amulet fragment quest bug - FIX A++ Thank you so much - that worked perfectly and opened-up the console command possibilities for me! The easiest way is to spawn the dead body of Galdurson (where I killed him) - and then loot him as normal. The quest journal will also update if you do this, and you can complete the quest normally. console: prid a5e68 <enter> enable <enter>
