Where do I get 7.76mm ammo

I seem to have acquired a homemade machine gun that takes 7.76mm ammo but i don't know where to get the ammo.

 

Any help?

I'd assume that you'd need to read the notes of whatever mod added a calibre as obscure as 7.76mm. I've never even heard of that one.

 

Or on the off chance that you mean 7.62mm, from the vendors in Nuka World. It's somewhat of a pity that while weapons from NW or FH can drop as legendaries before you go there, the vendors in the Commonwealth don't start actually selling ammo for it.

Yeah i meant 7.62, even though I have all the DLC havn't explored any yet. Having enough fun as it is. :happy:

Well, thing is, you don't really have to go there for ammo, if you're not opposed to using mods. (And if you're on this site, you probably don't have a problem with mods.) There are mods that add the FH and NW ammo to vendors in the Commonwealth, if you want to actually use it. Or the expanded manufacturing mod has ammo plants for both NW and FH, if you'd rather convert your brahmin poop and lead weights into ammo.

 

Or, well, you can also just give yourself some ammo with the console and pretend that whatever raider you shot had a backpack full of ammo for it. Just do a

 

help 7.62 0 ammo

 

in the console, and use player.additem from there, as usual. Or click on your weapons vendor in the console and additem the ammo to them, if you want to buy it fair and square.

There are also some which allow you to craft it
