badwillnosoup4u
i have an idea for a new kajiit race and since im a thinker and not a doer, i thought id post it and see if anyone was interested in developing it. Many, many millenia ago a stranger came amongst the tribes of Elsweyr. Though he appeared as a cloaked old man he claimed to be Alistra, a once mighty god from another plane. He claimed that he lovingly ruled over the denizens of his realm with a kind hand until the day a greedy and evil god named Malek, launched a sneak attack upon him and his realm. Being unprepared, he was quickly defeated and cast down to this realm as punishment, to wander powerless for all eternity. Alistra told the tribal leaders of Elsweyr that with their help he could regain his strength and open a portal to his plane, and being prepared this time could, again with their help, chase Malek from his fair lands. In return he offered the Khajiit immense power and glory. The Elders of Elsweyr though did not trust this self proclaimed god and denied him their help. One tribe though, the Shar'kret, would not be denied this chance to bring glory to their race, and agreed to help him.Soon the ritual was begun and all the tribe gathered around Alistra, lending to him some of their essence, a portion of their very souls, to reinvigorate him. Almost immediatly the leaders realised something was wrong and Alistra quickly revealed the truth, that he was in fact Malek, not Alistra, and that he would use their lent power to launch an attack upon Alistra's realm. The Shar'kret were weakened by the draining and could not fight back as he took more and more, their very physical forms fading as their essence was stolen. Then Malek tore open a portal to Alistra's plane and the Shar'kret could only watch in shame as he ravaged the unprepared god, quickly overpowering him with the stolen power of the Elsweyr tribe. As further insult he made them watch as he cast the broken body of Alistra into their plane, finally throwing a mountain atop him, to insure he never returned. With a final laugh Malek closed the portal, leaving the Shar'kret unconcious and very weak, a portion of their souls perhaps forever gone. The Shar'kret awoke to discover that the ordeal had left them nearly transparent, mere ghosts of their former selves. The other tribes of Elsweyr met them first with outright fear, then with disdain, decreeing that they would no longer have a seat or say within the tribes as punishment for their folly. The Shar'kret left the tribes and quickly faded into legend, becoming stories to scare Khajiit kits who might try to stay up late or do some other wrong.Fast forward a few millenia. The dwarves are at war with the dunmer in Morrowind, and the Shar'kret have become ruthless hunters of evil, desperatly hoping to somehow regain what they lost through tireless effort and many good deeds. Word eventually reaches the Shar'kret that the dwarven lord Kagrenac(spelling?) has discovered an ancient god buried under the Red Mountain at the heart of Morrowind. They immediatly realise this to be the body of Alistra and meet to form a reckless plan to acquire the weapons crafted by Kagrenac and reunite them with Alistra's body in the hopes of somehow reviving him and helping him return to his plane and cast down the evil god Malek, if for nothing more than revenge.Soon Shar'kret begin to be spotted all across vardenfell(spelling?) searching in their tireless quest. Well, there you go. ill give my ideas for stats next..... a constant 25pt. night eye (i think this should just be a requirement for all Khajiit)a constant 10% chameleon (representing the blight upon their souls. if you think this is too high or low let me know, id like your feedback)halved magic points and low skill increase modifiers for all magicks except alchemy(again representing the blight on their souls and further their fear of magic in general)very low personality (this from the legend surrounding them and their millenia of solitude in the jungles of Elsweyr)i was thinking that their coloration should be grayish, maybe with black tiger stripes id appreciate any feedback about my ideas. and if anyone likes it and would like to take on the challenge id be more than willing to let you develop it and post it online (maybe with just a tiny nod my direction ;) )
Almelexia
Hmm that DID not sound bad. But where do they came from? every race must have a place as a home so to say. And they must come from a place in tamriel not from a different planet. But that is just my thought.
badwillnosoup4u
they are from the same place as the rest of the khajiit, but could maybe be a slightly different breed, like the cathay-raht or senche-tiger types described in the manual, there are just fewer and not many outside of the land of Elsweyr know about them, since they the Khajiits dirty little secret, so to speak. ...Also, if anyone does decide to do this, please email me or something so ill know where to find it and download when its ready... cmac
Interesting story, but whenever new gods are created, it breaks the storyline. It just seems more authentic to keep the gods from the game, and just modify their actions.
Stormscape
its great, but make it so some Daedra god tricked them or something...
badwillnosoup4u
well i thought maybe it would explain the god that kagrenac supposedly found under the mountain, the one who's heart he used to craft Sunder and Keening. that is the way the story goes, right? and as far as i could tell it never goes into any kind of detail as to who the god was, or how he got there. i thought, since there doesnt seem to be much about it, there is some room for creative interpretation. am i right? i admit i havent done a lot of research about the history or morrowind. maybe someone somewhere knows who the god was really supposed to be. if so id like to know, to kinda clarify things. until then though it seems to me like an interesting way to explain it. Almelexia
That kagernac will exist is something that you dont hear every day. Maybe that mod can be something big, you just need some more quests and intro for the quests
badwillnosoup4u
no no no, im sorry, i didnt mean that kagrenac would exist, or that i was even asking for a mod that changes the storyline. i was just asking for a mod that adds this race to the game. the thing about kagrenac finding the god is already in the story, i just mentioned it to explain how the shar'kret found out where the god was.it would take place right along with the normal storyline, with the only difference being that when sunder and keening are reunited with the arkenstone(via pounding it into oblivion) maybe instead of azura showing up and giving you her ring, the god Alistra could show up and restore what was taken from the shar'kret.(maybe giving the player a ring or something that negates the chameleon affect, but also fortifies the players magicka and resistances to it, and fortifies personality. acting like it negates the shar'kret curse, but of course leaving it to the player to be able to remove the ring, if they dont mind the downsides or need the %10 chameleon affect etc.) if someone wants to tackle changing the storyline they should certainly feel free, but thats not really what i was asking. i was just looking to get someone to do the character creation. Almelexia
Ok that explains everything, sorry for misunderstanding
badwillnosoup4u
its no problem, its easy to get confused when dealing with issues such as these. are you interested maybe in trying your hand at this project? as i said before, use whatever of my ideas you like and run with it. i was thinking that maybe also someone could create a book that would be bundled with the race telling their story and have it placed somewhere within easy finding(perhaps on the table with the dagger right at the beginning?)
