ResidentWeevil2077
Are you using an x86 (32-bit) system or x64 (64-bit) system. If it's x86, you really shouldn't have any problems (other than the odd nagging from Vista, which I've already gotten over). You can find out what type of system you're using by right-clicking "Computer", and clicking "Properties". You should get the following screen (see attached). Because I haven't used 64-bit Windows before, I really can't say what would happen, other than incompatibility with the app itself. BTW, Windows Vista (despite its numerous flaws and bugs) is still a better OS than XP. I find it easier to use than XP, and so far, my experience with Vista has changed my opinion of it (I was quite iffy about using it at first). I'm not singing its praises, but I prefer it over XP. damstachizz
People blame vista for the stupidest things. What version is your game, what drivers is your GPU running, have you got any mods, are you using X86, etc.Start by checking on what is wrong, before you blame the OS. [Edit], oh..i see, you are running 1.0..OF COURSE IT WILL CRASH!!!Update to 1.2 and discover how incredibly good vista is, before you blame it for not wanting to run something that old. mat1
can you telll me exactly what i need to do to make it work like so how do i update 1.2 does it cost? The upgrade to 1.2 is done via a patch. You can get it for free HERE. Basicly the release these games, realise something isn't working properly and then release a fix. Its not a very big download, and once its finished just run it and it will do the rest. Good luck.

ResidentWeevil2077
If you're using the expansion Shivering Isles (I assume you're not), then you'd download the one at the very top (this file: ShiveringIsles_v1.2.0416English.exe (1.1 MB) 04/30/2007). If you use only Oblivion, then it's the first file under the "Oblivion Patches" heading (this file: Oblivion_v1.2.0416English.exe(5.1 MB) 04/30/2007). All the other patches on the page are localized for different countries, so you needn't worry about those. Sorry but I'm not providing the links here - you'll have to go the download page itself.
