thefinn
While I love skyrim, a lot of the story and voice acting and "Stuff that isn't engine programming" really sux. I'd love a mod that makes it so that..You don't have to be the dragonborn - no shouts ;) ie. Perhaps my character is a lowly darkelf or khajit who wants to thieve his way to godliness? You don't do 4 quests and become arch mage. Perhaps the Alteration guy gets the job instead. You don't go out 4-5 times and become thieves guild master. Brynyolf gets it instead.etc etc. Some of the story is cool, usually the smaller quests. But some of the main quest lines just lay it on a bit thick for me. The rationales involved in being the protagonist who becomes guild master in a day or two is kinda bulls*** ;) Obviously would require creation kit ;) Edited December 13, 2011 by thefinn
Magicnubs
I support this! It really breaks the immersion for me that I can be the best at everything and hold the highest position at every institution. Maybe make different ranks within each faction/guild that you can progress up based upon number of perks points spent in certain constellations? I also dislike the fact that I'm "the chosen one!" It feels like a cop-out story mechanic.
Xouthpaw
It would be really cool if there was another person who became the dragonborn. You would see him questing and fighting dragons, then maybe you could get enough fame to join him and be HIS follower ^_^ , that would be a change. NorthernMonkey
I would also like to oppurtunity to be "commonborn" instead of "dragonborn". Once the CK comes out, this will probably be made a reality. You could perhaps, when you start a new game be presented with choices as to your character's background, which would determine your starting location. For example: Criminal(Starts in prison, with the choice of either escaping or serving your sentence)Hunter(Starts in the wilderness, equipped with some basic fur armor, a bow and a dagger)Legionnaire/Legion Archer/Legion Scout(Starts in an Imperial camp, equipped with Legion armor(heavy, medium, light, respectively) and Imperial weapons)Stormcloak(Starts in a Stormcloak camp, equipped with Stormcloak armor, and basic weaponry) These are just some examples, but you get the idea. You would also be able to select "Dragonborn", in which case the game starts normally.

It just never made sense playing my Khajit or really if you think about it anything but nord for a dragonborn..? Going by everything said in the game it really has to do with blood and thus bloodlines. I'd be down for anything that allowed me to avoid this part of the gameplay, even if I was sequestered to help out the Dragonborn go get the horn, or go to kill numinex or whatever... Perhaps paying our debt to society?? :)
