Purr4me
Haven't read the whole thread and so I don't know, if it has been suggested yet, but if you haven't already: try moving all except the current savegame file to another folder, so the game only has access to the current one. I have had stuttering issues related to the size and amount of savegame files.User provided the data base here for inspection. Purr4me
User provided a video as well to view, shows the system and or game freezing up during game play here: (https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4967890-does-anyone-have-any-advice-for-dealing-with-the-bethesda-stutter/page-7&do=findComment&comment=43515540) And I am on windows 10 home 64bit here as well testing things. windows is even freezing up with the browser application, some other apps here too, while dual booting into 732bit ,no freezing with any thing, though I can not test Fo4 on that system, I am able to run all the other 32bit game with no issues. Not so with 10 64bit. nothing but problems, I get problems will all the tools, any program set for 32bit enviorments freeze up. jones177
Hi If you are getting micro stutter it my be an issue with your video card interacting with your mother board. I used a GTX 970 for a few months. It would micro stutter with vanilla Skyrim. I tried it on my Sons computer & it didn't stutter at all. I replaced it with a GTX 980 & gave the 970 to my Son. The 980 did not stutter but would froze the computer every other session. When I upgraded to a 980 ti I got no more freezing. It did stutter with Syrim when I used ENB. An ENB update fixed it.Now the same computer has a GTX 1080. It stuttered with this game. The stuttering was random & made the tree branches vibrate rapidly. As I mentioned that computer had a hard drive failure. I replaced the HD with a 1tb SSD, installed Fallout 4 plus all the mods I use. The stutter is gone. Also on my 100 level + saves were the settlements are maxed out & items like turrets & grass would only appear after I entered the settlement now load as they should. I recommend that you try to test your computer with another video card. I also recommend that if you have Fallout 4 on an SSD, disconnect your HD & test. I have done some tests where I work with computers with SSDs & HDs. The SSD are fine loading Windows but suffer at random access reads & burst reads when a slow HD is on the system. Windows is to blame. It is the reason I waited for the 1tb SSDs to become affordable before getting one. If I got another SSD it would be in a Raid configuration. Bruhmis
Using the application process Explorer, while the game is running hot, all those files in your spoiler tag should be seen. oh ok I thought you were saying something completely different. so yeah that's definitely not something I can look into as a fix. probably it'll end up being only a new windows installation that that can fix it - I'll probably do that at some point today or tomorrow after I finish up with work. Bruhmis
it is. I just don't want to start installing windows before I get my work done for next week - I've had some serious problems relating to secondary OS installations before and I don't want to risk it until I have everything finished and backed up.especially since the windows 10 installer seems to have a mind of its own. one of the many basic things they managed to make a mess of with windows 10. Purr4me
Compounded with ssd architectures, I bet. Hdd's it's lays in the install methods and partitions made and in what order. The order of things can get tricky.
