ninga_express
Considering that the Thalmor are like a government body, meaning they got the coin to outfit their troops in nice elven gear. What would the standard Dominion... minion wear?
Kodiak412
Elven Light Armor and Glass Armor. At least that is what they are wearing when I attack the patrols. Higher ups may have something better, but Glass is great.
TheMango55
Elven Light Armor and Glass Armor. At least that is what they are wearing when I attack the patrols. Higher ups may have something better, but Glass is great. That's Thalmor patrols. Thatlmor are like the SS of the Aldmeri Dominion. Regular Aldmeri soldiers probably wear standard steel mail armor, maybe decorated to look more "elvish." In other words, nothing we see in Syrim. The closest would be the armor worn by city guards. But it would probably look more like Mithral Armor from Oblivion. Edited December 14, 2011 by the_mango55
Lessabos
I think they wear only elven armor , because altmers and bosmers prefer light armor over heavy armor
ninga_express
Not everyone has moonstone or malachite, mango55 is right.
Lachdonin
Stylistically, it would probably all look like Elven armour, even if made of more mundane materials. There is also the psycologic warfare department to consider as well. They may well equip their forces in Elven armour as standard, simply because it's so rare elsewhere. Its rather demoralising when you're facing an entire army whose rank and file have better equipment than your general.
Khorak
Summerset Isle may be a treasure trove of Moonstone. There's no particular reason why the Aldmeri Dominion might not actually be equipping much of their professional military forces in what we term 'elven armour' (since they'd just call it...armour). I'm surprised no-one has made a transmute spell to turn iron ore into things like Orichalcum and Ebony, so their armies could just march directly over their enemies like a combine harvester. In a world of magic something like that would become top priority when you find out someone has made a spell that turns iron ore to gold. But then, when have fantasy settings ever used magic like it really would be used? Edited December 18, 2011 by Khorak
ninga_express
@Khorak That would be one hell of an army to be fully decked out in Ebony! The Empire had a long time to develop those spells too, the mage's guild were too busy fighting off necromancy I guess... Could have lots of moonstone, but I highly doubt it is enough to equip an army large enough to bring the empire to it's knees! Were probably talking about over 100 thousand mers! They would have had to have a bucket wheel excavator to extract that much moonstone!
