He says difficulty level is normal.

Oblivion can be a problem if you level up using major skills that are not directly related to combat. It is easy to reach level 16 with increases in athletics, speechcraft, mercantile, security etc. etc. Basically this means your fighting skills are too low for the monsters that start to appear at higher levels. You could start again with a new approach. If you select major skills you don't use all that often, you can choose more easily when you want to level up. You can maximise the fighting skill you prefer at a low level. You could reset the difficulty to easy. You could concentrate on levelling up some of the fighting skills whether using magic orweapons or you could maximise sneak and avoid detection. You could enchant items with chameleon until you have 100% although IMO that makes the game boring.

Several different things to try.

Perhaps the fighter just isn't the avenue for you. I'm terrible in open combat, worse at magic but good at stealth. Sneaking and a bow/dagger gets me through all my missions. You would have to start a new game though.

I have a custom class and my major skills are armorer, blade, destruction, block, heavy armor, restoration, and conjuration. Thanks to Sypron's tactic :thanks: I don't have to restart the game as I have decent sneak (but crappy marksmanship) because I already completed the assassin, the thief and the mage guilds. As this is a personal challenge I try not to change difficulty but thanks for the suggestion Malchik.
