Watercrown
So I'm basically trying to add a weapon to the Cowboy perk. I open up GECK with the main game .esm and the .esp for the weapon I'm trying to add.I go to the misc section, form list, find the cowboy perk and open it up.Next I find the weapon I'm trying to add and drag it to the cowboy formlist. It adds it to the very top of the list. Good sign so far right? Save the file. I open it up with FNVedit just to ensure I didn't mess anything up. The only sections that is changed is the form list for cowboy perk... so far so good. However, the entry I added doesn't seem to save. I tried it a few times for for whatever reason it never saves. I'm really new to this so I'm probably messing something up. Where am I going wrong?
RoyBatterian
That's odd, it should save if you can save your mod. You can always add it with FNVEdit.
Watercrown
That's odd, it should save if you can save your mod. You can always add it with FNVEdit. Thanks for the reply. I figured out what I was doing wrong. In GECK the .esp I created only had the form list addition, not the weapon itself. So that was creating an error since it was trying to reference a weapon that did not exist. I fixed it by taking the .esp I created and merging it with the weapon mod .esp itself. Seems to be working now. On a related note, I have another question. Being that I have no idea how to use FNVedit I used the "Copy as overwrite into..." to merge the files. I notice there is another option to "copy as new entry..." What's the difference between this to? Will I run into issues with the one I selected? RoyBatterian
That stuff is explained in the FNVEdit training manual, give it a download. ;)
