SparrowCheeky
The title sums it all. While playing in survival mode I have to backtrack the entire map to defend a settlement - what's the point of all the automated defences then, this is plain stupid. However it seems you still need to physically "be there", otherwise the attack resolves in simulation mode, which is supposedly basic and may be even as simple as comparing numbers and weaponry. Moreover, I think everyone would want to actually "see" our machine gun turrets shredding the waves of super mutants and our traps working. So I had this seemingly great idea... why not give player the ability to assign a companion to watch over the settlement's defences, and if attack happens, you would sort of teleport and experience the fight from your companion's perspective. I don't know if he/she should be controllable or not. I don't know if that's possible at all. But implementing something like this would be great, don't you think?
