gigantibyte
Lol, what's needed the most is the CK. Wonder if the cell design tools will be like those for Fallout 3? Edit: I haven't been in too many Dwemerian ruins. Are there models for piping? Transparent tubing with flowing water would be best. SkjoldBjorn
Yes, a lot of piping models in dwemer interior, also pumps etc, so you got a lot to choose from, not sure about transparent however, i have only seen normal pipes and pumps. gigantibyte
Cool. But even with more advanced tech, a salt deposit would probably be better. For instance, the Sifto company evaporates hot water that is first pumped into an underground mine. So the mod could have both a factory and a mine shaft system. I'll probably start with a mine shaft for the basic mod. In part 2, salt mine workers break into shafts dug out with Dwemer tech, which lead to the factory. Adolon
I am totally endorsing this. A salt mine is a great idea and lore friendly. As for how a Skyrim salt mine could work, I like a Dwemer factory idea. They could be using a salt evaporation pond. Another mine (if you want to do more) could be a mine full of slaves or prisoners as mining for salt was incredibly expensive and incredibly dangerous before engines were invented. gigantibyte
They could be using a salt evaporation pond. The only access to the sea I can see (no pun intended) is in the frozen north of Skyrim. The notable salt ponds listed in that wiki article are in southern regions. Adding slaves and prisoners would be a nice touch. This one mod could be used to launch all kind of ideas, starting simple then getting more complex as I get familiar with the CK. Sunnie
A Dwemer factory is both plausible to the storyline and fits lore perfectly. It also has the ability to take advantage of established conditions that Dwemer ruins are in and are subjected to. My money is on a factory, not on a cave type mine, but thats just my opinion. Edit: You can also put one of these anywhere in Skyrim since the Dwemer have pipes running all over the continent anyway. Adolon
Adding slaves and prisoners would be a nice touch.I've got some other ideas: -Dwemer factory that's automated. The player has to fight off the automated defenses.-Dwemer salt mine full of Falmer (i.e., Dwemer slaves) that have made a nest.-An Imperial salt mine full of a random assortment of races as slaves/prisoners. kevinwastaken
Take a kettle to the ocean, fill it with sea water, put it on a campfire, and when all the water boils off, SALT! I like the salt mine idea though.
aaroc
I think it's a good idea. The only problem is that food is so very useless, for the most part. I'd like to see food buffs that last longer, have different effects, and such. What's the point of a meal that restores 20 health or 20 stamina? That's what potions are for. Skyrim ought to have taken a page from World of Warcraft's book in this regard and made food more useful.
Jackal2233
This will go in nicely with a future hunger/thirst mod, since salt is used in every cooking recipe too.
