Halihaisku
I have wanted for a long time to create character who is an addict; but not necessarily addicted to Skooma. Perhaps addicted to alcohol or cheese? But there is one thing that keeps me giving up, and that is the lack of consequences. The only time I started a character like this, who was supposed to be so addicted to cheese that he would kill for it, ended when I noticed that my character had not eaten cheese for a week, because I had forgot about it (It's hard to keep track when one did eat cheese last time) and the lack of cheese did not actually cause any troubles to my character. I know that there is a mod called Chasing the Dragon, which causes potions to be addictive, but that is rather narrow spectrum; there is no way to disable the effect from potions and add it to anything else. Which makes sense, as that was not the purpose of the mod in the first place. I also know that mods like INeed add drunk effects to Alcohol and Skooma, but... After trying it out, getting drunk, falling off the cliff, surviving and sobering up, my character was as happy as ever, and there was nothing that would have given me a reason to keep drinking; other way around, actually. So for those who want their character to be addicted to something but have hard time to keep it up, having a need system that forces penalties to characters who neglect their addiction would be a great help. If there is a way to force penalties for neglecting sleep, it would make sense it would be possible to do the same with cheese? But another thing is that not everyone wants to be addicted to alcohol or cheese. And I know that making every consumable in Skyrim from alchemy ingredients to sweetrolls to be addictive is not just next to impossible, but also terribly unpractical. If character is supposed to be addicted to cheese, eating troll fat shouldn't affect his need for cheese. So this is why a way to customize what is addicting would be needed. It could be MCM menu, though they seem to be quite hard to make, or a lesser power that picks up the next item character eats or drinks and marks it as addictive. It could support multiple addictions at once, or one addiction with multiple items can satisfy, or one addiction with only one item supported. There could be a way to customize the penalties from neglecting the addiction, or the symptoms could be universal, like direct hit to regeneration, or there could be templates to choose from, like Mage, Warrior, Thief and Crafting. Anyway, these are ideas I would like to see in a mod, I would do it myself if I had the know-how, but hopefully someone who has it gets enough inspiration from a giants toe-addiction to make this dream come true..
