Another facial discoloration issue.

well this is a annoying issue, most facial mods has this when you edit a NPC

the head stays on a different skin color(nord 6 or 7), while the body changes, bethesda is working to now to fix this bug

Are you sure that's the same issue? I have this problem for my PC, and even without using a face mod. And a Nord at 6 or 7 won't look right either.

I spent a little while today fiddling with things to get pics that showed the progression, hope that it helps someone to decide if its the same problem....

12:31 pics http://tinypic.com/r/4lrl8k/5 Diamonized normal body with Coverwoman v3 head mod in HD textures

12:45 pics http://tinypic.com/r/34dn4mx/5 removed body mod and face mod - checked nothing was installed in files regarding female head or body mods (there wasn't - but face is still greyed out)

13:03 Added Caliente Female Body Mod BBE v3 for NMM Install curvy - it told me it couldn't find any textures for heads so was installing default bethesda textures.

13:13 http://tinypic.com/r/o0thy1/5 pictures with body mod, no head mod

13:16 Added Better females by Bella version3 installed first then the add on version 1 overwrite, (as instructed to obtain a less made up face)

13:28 http://tinypic.com/r/8wfk0i/5 pics with body mod and head mod. Face even more greyed out then previously

removed Caliente & Better females, checked files again - no female mods

13:45 Re-installed UNP Base main body

13:55 Pics again. http://tinypic.com/r/alp85e/5 This time even darker..its as if the textures are staying in a hidden file somewhere I can't see them to delete them and are getting progressively overwritten on top of base texture.

14:00 re-installed Coverwoman version 3 seamless UNP not in HD textures

All images taken from windows mode

I fiddled around with Showracemenu weight slider (which sometimes clears the worst of it if I save her with minimal weight and then reload showracemenu and put her weight back to where I want it) and put it back to full screen and its not so obvious now although I still prefer to be indoors if i want to play in 3rd person and NPC's in game have a less obvious but still noticeable grey face.

Current mods etc are:

No post process mods at all or anything which alters the lighting.

Plug ins

Apachii hair

City Forests

Dovakhinn hideout and retreat

a few stand alone clothes mods

Mods

Better males

Lush grass

Lush trees

New grass for whiterun

Skyrim HD 2k textures v 1.4

a few stand alone clothes mods

Got the same problem. Female has a high texture face while body is normal. Meanwhile Male face has a 'greyed' out face like the one the poster has.

I think ENBseries shader enhancing did this, but I am not sure. Did anyone with the same problem install ENBshader mod ?

I had an issue with an intermediary version of ENBseries where the face turned dark brown every once in a while. Reloading a savegame or entering a building usually fixed it (temporarily). That's not this issue though, I'm still having this after reinstalling and without any mods, including ENB.

I made a thread about this on the Bethesda forum which got a bit more attention than the one I made here: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1350967-greydiscolored-faces/

So far the only thing we seem to know is that everyone with that problem (so far) uses Windows 7 64-bit.

Been a while since I've checked back in this thread, as my problem spontaneously stopped a while ago. Since then however, it's back with a vengeance.

Various new mods include Dimon99 UNP (HD normals), with coverwomen look 4 (optimised to reduce neck seam with UNP), various eye and hair textures, different lip/makeup tintmasks etc. And on men, some combination of Chris57's better males collection. In general, just highly modified characters, no ENB at all, and just to clear up any theories regarding OS compatibility, I'm running 32bit. Might be worth pointing out that "showracemenu" and "setscale" commands have been used extensively to edit the character.

Indoors: Drop dead gorgeous

Outdoors: Completely repulsive, and I might just be looking for problems where there are none, but it doesn't seem isolated to the face any more.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say that due to the sheer number of people having this problem, and the vast number of different mods they use, the mods probably aren't to blame. More likely is some kind of archive invalidation issue, or it's very possible that the game has a composite mesh somewhere of the character which isn't updating or mapping correctly when the appearance of the character is changed. Sadly I don't have anywhere near the know how to even dream of where to start looking for the solution.
