Large texture mods causing weird cell loading problems

For some reason whenever I install any larger texture mods like FlaconOil's mod, Langley's Texture Workshop, or Grafix, I seem to get an issue where textures fail to load properly and some meshes don't load in exterior cells (Doesn't effect interior cells though), Lasting about 10 minutes in pretty much anywhere I go (Example: In Concord, most of the buildings don't load, and the ones that do are extremely low-res and i can walk straight through them.)

After hours of testing and a number of clean installs I know that the texture mods are the problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution? Also if need be I can post my PC Specs.

Not sure if it's the same problem (however I do use a lot of texture mods, mostly 2k but a couple of 4k for power armor and protectrons) but I had a similar issue with game freezes when moving from one cell to another. The game would freeze whilst it loaded the meshes and textures, and often times there were textures that were loaded in low resolution, as well as numerous times when I could actually see the meshes and textures loading in.

I've found that this problem is caused by the way the game streams mesh and texture data (something that Bethesda implimented in vrsn 1.5 I think) which is pretty vram intensive, hence the freezes, as well as it negatively affecting my fps. My solution was to lower the resolution I play at, as well as lower my shadow settings. I also streamlined my load order by removing a number of mods that I suspect were causing conflicts. It seems to have done the trick, as I've noticed a lack of freezing, and no stuttering (except for when travelling via vertibird, but that's to be expected considering how unoptimized the game is!)

That Grafix mod you mention - I don't use it myself, but I've heard the name mentioned recently somewhere in the forums. I think that might have been the cause of issues other users were having. Have you tried uninstalling all the texture mods you have, and then installing them one at a time? This would be the best way to identify which of them is causing the issue.

As I said, I uninstalled all of my mods and used a fresh install and found out the the problem is specifically caused by any of the larger texture mods.

The base game works fine, and smaller, more specific texture mods don't seem to cause problems, its defiantly the larger ones.

I would have to assume it's either that my game is running off a platter disc drive, or that particular update is causing it (although if it were the update you would think a lot more people would be having the problem and complaining to get it fixed)

Hmm, that is strange. Can you share your system specs. Are you using L.O.O.T. to sort your load order?

Like i said i tested it with a clean save and only those larger texture mods installed, none of them have esps
