aznboi1393
It's easy to notice that once you reach a certain level in Skyrim, the enemies basically become a joke (even Alduin). When the creation kit comes out, do you think its possible to revamp the combat system. Currently, Skyrim's combat, even with the mods that involve altering the combat, is very dull. I was thinking of making the combat more dynamic and very fluid, you know like Batman: Arkham Asylum/ City. Skip to 0:30 ( ). Notice how when batman knocks some enemies out, Batman goes into a cinematic. You basically could basically do the same thing in skyrim when it comes to cinematic kills when killing some of the opponents. Just like Batman AC/AA, you should have the ability to block the opponents attack and do a badass counter attack with it's own animation. When unleashing heavy combos on an opponent in a row, your character in Skyrim should be able to do little less cinematic executions (not all the time thought). Notice in the link I posted you can see batman unleashing a flury of punches(his finisher) after doing some combos on the enemies. In skyrim, after doing combos on an enemy you perform and execution by either stabbing him, beheading, or this..Skip to 1:30 ( ) without going into a cinematic phase. When fighting multiple opponents (skyrim), the character focuses on one guy, but by double tapping the movement keys (w,a,s,d) the character should either jump or move quickly to the opponent in that general direction and start focusing on him/her. In this new combat (skyrim), adding magic in either one hand (and a weapon on the other) or magic in both hands mixes things up a bit . Combat would still be the same (if it is close range) and instead of swords/hammers/axes it would be magic.Combat would start to resemble fights from Avatar the Last Airbender. Since magic people can't really block unless they are using a ward spell, characters should also have the ability to dodge by correctly timing the attacks of the opponents and pressing the button that was assigned to dodged. Also duel wielding weapons should have the ability to block, but not effectively as a shield. Also your character should have the slight chance of disarming the opponent in the middle of the fight. When the oppoent loses their weapon they can go into that animation where they are on the floor saying they give up, and the player can choose to execute them or switch to the other opponents around him. The player should still have the ability to activate the favorites menu to allow themselves to change their weapons/magic/armor in the heat of battle. I just created this post so that the mods can keep this new combat idea in their minds when the Creation Kit comes out in January. Even if the creation kit were to come out, it seems that this whole concept will be extremely difficult if not impossible to execute. Right now, it was speculation and a fun way to brain storm. But if someone were to create this, it will probably be the best mod out of all the others. Anyone up for the challenge? lol Edited December 15, 2011 by aznboi1393
ASpaceOstrich
This won't happen, there is a limit on what mods can do, this rode over in a gilded carriage pulled by frenzied mamoths.
stormofshadow
meh. just be glad that you can at least recognize fun combat when you see it. while stumbling onto this thread, i've noticed the net is sadly abundant with fools going "skyrim combat ROCKS!!! skyrim is way better than arkham city. i haven't played arkham city yet, but yes i plan to someday". oh the humanity.
