Orotheim - crashes system every time

Orotheim - every time I enter this place I can save inside, but I cannot load it after that. Tried leaving and it crashed. I'll just avoid the place, but seems weird that it crashes just by going in to it.

Anyone else have a problem there?

27th level character - running a W-7 3xSLI 9800 GTX+ PhenomII.

Follow-up

Saved outside before going in; saved inside; completed quest for book and saved; BUT each of these had to be done AFTER a reload of the game, as each save crashed.

So I have solved this problem by cheating:

tgm,

enter and ignore everyone, just get the book,

coc whiterun

save

problem eliminated.

However, that's not an in-game solution, that's just how to cheat past it.

Any insights are appreciated.

I had a problem in the cave.. what's it called. Ancestor Ascent or something like that. You go through, fight a frost troll to get to the dragon wall at the top. Mine would crash every time I aggroed the troll, I switched my sound drivers off, since I read that might be the issue, and I was able to go through the cave without a single hiccup. Once I was done turned the drivers back on

Interesting; hadn't heard about the sound drivers. This is the FIRST game ever that will not interact with my sound controls on the keyboard! If my sound is low before I start the game, I cannot adjust it within the game.

Thinking about it, I'm not sure what you mean by "turning off" the sound drivers - did you just set the sound sliders to zero, or make some other adjustment? Did you do it from within the program?

I will keep that solution in mind;.

Thanks.

Well I run a sound card, so I can go between realtek (onboard) and creative drivers on the speaker icon near the clock on the desktop (playback devices). Creative drivers are probably the worst audio drivers ever, and along with the bugginess of skyrim I guess they don't like eachother sometimes
