lindsay4410
Hello!! This is my first post in Nexus forums! (But I've been trolling for a while *shifty eyes*) So, one of the things I loved most about oblivion (call me nerdy) were the custom houses that people made. Just like everyone else, I love collecting all the random stuff and I love having it on display. I think that's one of the major charms of these games is all the unique thingies you can find. Would you believe in oblivion I had a helmet collection? Don't be jealous... Anyways -- Since Skyrim is still budding in the modding community, I'm getting impatient! I remember oblivion had like a TES construction kit, though I thought it was extremely poorly laid out (but thats just me). If i wanted to create a house, or perhaps remodel an interior, what program should I use to do so? How do I start? A bit of background on me - I'm currently a student at AAU in San Francisco, getting my master's degree in game design with a focus in modeling. I've even considered making some custom pieces for skyrim, but I honestly have no idea how. I'm used to working on a real small scale when it comes to creating things, I've never imported anything into a game (yet, lollercoasters). Anyways, anyone who could point me in a direction to get started would be very much appreciated!
CampanaAliquanta
Better to wait for the Creation Kit (which is supposed to be released in January). But here is a list of links to various tutorials to get you started:http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/471428-modding-faq-how-to
bassist02324
Besthesdas tools have always been highly regarded as easy to learn, but flexible enough to make whatever you want. The CK will probably be the best tool out there. I had a lot of fun with the GECK (bascially the CK but for Fallout3/NV).
